  • How long to get to advanced level (starting from 0)?

    Hi all!

I guess this is your typical beginner question πŸ˜€ I’ve taken about ~10 intro to pole & beginner classes and just ordered my first home pole (yay!). I’m neither particularly flexible nor strong nor do I have any dance background. I just enjoy pole dancing a lot πŸ™‚ My question is: What’s a reasonable time estimate to advance through the core curriculum all the way to advanced level 3? What’s a good estimate for how many weekly training sessions (& for how long) are needed?

    Thanks so much!

It’s been about 14 years since I was a beginner like you. I was 42 years old at the time. No dance experience, reasonably strong (always a weight lifter) and moderate flexibility. I am fairly athletic in general at these sorts of unusual athletic pursuits (I can’t throw or catch a ball to save my life). At the time I believe I worked up to being able to do most of the advanced level 2 in Veena’s programs and some advanced level 3 within a year or so. I was able to invert on my very first try and could immediately do gemini and scorpio as well so maybe that will help you gauge how long it will take you.

Hello and welcome! It’s actually a great question and I’m glad you asked. I hope to see you around πŸ™‚

I have two answers for ya.

    • The first is just fact: There are 216 days of training if you start with the 30-day take off program, which is where I prefer new and newish dancers start. Now that’s assuming you don’t miss any days, and you can nail every trick the first time. It also doesn’t include any extra training you might want to do like, dancing in heels program, spinning pole program, and flexibility training, learning floor work and so on.
    • The second answer: There’s no timeline for learning. I have designed my programs to allow average folks with busy lives to come and go, or stop and start as needed. This might mean that some students enjoy the beginner level content for years and years because their lives are so busy they stop and start often. I do have plenty of members who enjoy being a dedicated pole dancer and do complete all levels and extra programs. It’s all up the the individual and I’m here to support whichever journey you want to take.

This IG video talks about the difference between a motivated pole dancer and dedicated.

You might find this video interesting as a newer pole dancer too.
