Ahh it’s been a while since I’ve been on StudioVeena, and I miss it!!

I feel like I’ve had a lot of stuff dumped on me at once and I hit a tough point for a while. Between stress from classes and getting the flu and struggling with my usual issues of being anemic and bruising so much, my poling hit a bit of a slump for a little while…

And then to make matters worse, apparently I’ve now managed to hurt my right arm somehow, because every time I grip the pole and put weight on it, I get tingling in my elbow and fingers https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

So anyway yeah I had been getting very frustrated with the poling situation, but then something fun happened today https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

My roommate wanted to pole and I wasn’t gonna join her because of my arm but I decided I would try going light on it seeing as I’ve rested it for a week. I did a bunch of spins and stuff and was feeling okay, then my roommate mentioned a move that she wanted to learn with a new mount, and I mentioned that I had started trying to learn the shoulder mount but it was way too hard. So I went to give a demo–and I DID THE SHOULDER MOUNT!! Just out of the blue like that–and the funny thing is, that’s the exact same situation in which I first learned to invert! Weird huh? I guess sometimes I just have to step back and think less!

Anyway I’m gonna try and get back into the swing of things with poling and hopefully be back on here more. I miss you ladies!!

Yeah I’m guessing it must be a pinched nerve too, but luckily it hasn’t been happening as much so I’m hoping it’s getting better! Although another concern I have is that my shoulder muscle that I put against the pole when I shoulder mount hurts A LOT, and I’m not sure if I’m not doing it right?? I know that’s a little vague but has anyone experienced a similar problem?

I’ve been practising the shoulder mount for a while now and just couldn’t get it. My shoulder hurt too much and I could only just hold my legs up in a V for a little while whilst doing it, but I went to class last night and just did it! Don’t know why or what I was thinking at the time but I did it! So am feeling great today and can understand your woopiness (is that even a word?! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif )

Bet I won’t be able to do it again tho’!

    Congrats to you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
