Wow.. Google Chrome Sucks..
Posted by LoneStarDiva on June 22, 2011 at 9:17 amFor those of you who may be having problems w/pages taking forever to load, videos constantly buffering, and LOST reply postings….
Use Internet Explorer. After months of the constant irritation, I gave IE a try in a desperate attempt to end the frustration w/ Google CHROME… grr.
Happy now.. whee! Pages loaded INSTANTLY, etc, etc.!!

OK.. correction… IE won't even SHOW the option for video when I click on one to watch on SV.. wtf? Anyone?
I tried updates, etc. still nothing. So.. I have to go Back to chrome to watch SV videos. 🙁

When I was having issues with slow loading of video I did the ping test that webbie suggested. Found that my connection was ridiculously slow. I rebooted by modem and my problem cleared right up. This is the first thing that pretty much any help line will tell you to do.

i did all that. Chrome plays them as it did.. FINE.. (ish.. lol)
But IE doesn't even show a window/stream box.. weird. I figured since I hadn't used it in so long, I went thru and did all my updates, etc. Who knows.

Hmm… it seems Adobe Flash Player won't download and suggests closing ALL Internet Explorer windows. Then I go to Google Chrome and it says it's updated.
SO… Flash Player isn't available to IE. Whatever. (Probably why I stopped using it to begin with several months ago.!)

Lonestardiva – Your inconsistent results are most likely the result of your Internet provider Clear. I would also scan your computer for infections as that is generally what will inhibit plugin functionality such as flash.

lol, guys, try Firefox. I've rarely had problems with it! And, it's easy to use and all that good stuff…
However, Webby, I was wondering…is there any reason why I sometimes only get the first 30-50 seconds of a video, and I've seen another girl complaining of that as well. Could this be an internet provider problem, or something to do with firefox/my computer?
I run a Mac (for now! Probably selling it in anticipation of school), and while I love it and it's easy to use and everything, stuff is sometimes so hidden that I don't know how to troubleshoot problems! Lol!

I knoooow.. FIrefox was my exclusive browser at one time. I forget why I ditched it.. but this morning I ALMOST downloaded it again.. lol
@ WEBBIE…. my LAN clear is pokier than my plug in card.. lol.. However… I must have scared everything to do w/computer this morning. NOW Google Chrome is working fine.. go figure.

and sometimes just rebooting your computer will help clear things up. Especially if you have updated something.

Wow. Reading this thread lets me know I'm not the only one with computer issues. Thanks everyone…I've had video issues before that mysteriously come and go. I'm afraid I'll never know enough about computers to make them always work but thankfully we have all these awesome people to help. I've used Chrome and IE 🙂
