Just wondering which dvd's everyone here would recommend? I'm from the UK & already have The vertical dance workout vol 1 & 2. Something with a good warm up, stretching & cool down. Transitions, floorwork & routines. And of course moves well explained https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I love doing all the tricks but am generally RUBBISH at knowing what to do with them all & the dancing part doesn't come at all naturally to me!! I could do a shoulder mount before i'd made a bodywave look half decent!!

    Any advice will be GREAT!!

    Thanx

    Hello!

I have built a small collection of DVDs. My two favorite sets are BeSpun Pole Dance Workout Set and Art of Pole set.

I like BeSpun because they have a unique warm up where you walk, do some light floor work and stretch. Then get into the dance segments. The segments they teach are short combos. It is neat though because you are able to put walks and moves together. Then there is a short cool down with light stretch. I love their style.

Art of Pole is nice and very high quality production. It has a lot of technical information and is packed full of tricks and tips.

Clicking with a video is personal preference… but those are my favorites so far! I see DVDs as an investment so if I can get just a few good things out of each one, the purchase is worth it.

Whatever DVDs you decide on… I hope you enjoy them!

    Happy Poling!

    Hi,

I have bought The Art of Pole (Vol. 3 – 5) and I was satisfied with it too. I like the way how the tricks are taught in these dvd´s.

My top 3 DVD recommendations https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    1. I REALLY like the Art of Pole Series DVDs 1-5, the moves are explained well.  Jamilla even has whole DVDs following this series called Routines 1 & Routines 2.  Routines 1 is a DVD with beginner, intermediate, and advanced routines with all the moves from her Art of Pole Series. She also has a DVD with some more dance technique/chair dance called Tease.  This DVD is more chair/lap dance oriented but it is a good supplement for dance movement & learning additional techniques/body isolations.

    2. I also like LiveOnce DVDs.  The beginner DVD is great as it has a lengthy routine on it from all the moves in the DVD.  This DVD also has the routine printed out in the DVD insert- which can be really helpful for beginners as it focuses on all areas of learning: visually & auditory.

    3. BeSpun DVDs Series Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced: I really like these DVDs as they are basically teaching routines.  The entire DVD is a routine broken down into 5 sections/combos.  You can put the 5 sections in any order to create multiple routines.  It also allows you to get comfortable with the moves in the combos/sequences by breaking them down into small portions for learning.  These DVDs are great for the intermediate to advanced level poler wanting to change their focus from learning moves to putting them all together and forming a routine with fluidity and flow.

These are my personal preferences as I tend to stay away from styles that are masculine and jerky in their movements. I like feminine dance styles that flow, even though the Art of Pole is borderline masculine/jerky- I still find the explanations and execution of teaching the moves to be the best out there which is why it's really good for beginners.

@ Koba…AOP is borderline Masculine/jerky?? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif  I don't think that at all!!! And well of course, I would suggest everyone try out the lessons HERE, but I think AOP is a good set of dvds. I don't have them but I have seen them. Just buy everything. LOL

    LOL…i do actually have Veena's lessonshttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif!!!

But my problem is my pole is no longer in front of my pc (long story ..cut short) the pole studio i used to go to closed https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif so i decided to convert my garage so me & a few of the other girls could still get together https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif & i've no internet in my garage & the memory of a goldfish so i sit here & watch loads of good stuff & then get out there & remember NOTHING LOL!!! I'm the kinda person that REALLY needs instruction & explanation & to be able to play something over & over until it gets into my thick skull!!

AOP does seem to be thee set to get, & if i had a ton of money yes i would buy EVERYTHING but renovating the garage has wiped me out for the foreseeable future!!!!!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Thanks for the suggestions ladies, I'll have to check out the Bespun dvd's, they maybe sound like what i need https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

in the mean time, you could go oldschool and print a picture of each move/spin you want to work on and annote it?  probably not much use if you want to have video instructions but i did it when the internet went out in my flat and it worked well enough ðŸ™‚

If your just looking at combining move….. I would write down moves and practices combining them. To make a routine just pick a few tran, floor, spins and moves like 2 of each to start. The more you do it on your own the easier it gets of course.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Tequilalily, your post made me laugh. It's like you just met Brad Pitt or something. Haha.

Brad Pitt is way overrated–and I highly doubt he can work a pole like Veena can! lmao Is it weird that a hetero chick like myself spends way more time watching girls pole dancing in revealing outfits than I do watching guys like Brad? I'm sure most of you can relate.
