The burn is going away!
Posted by megs982 on April 10, 2010 at 12:05 amSo, this morning was my 3rd day on the pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I did a pole sit..and really didn’t feel the burn too much. Yay!! Was able to sit and take my arms off and just sit there for a second. Then i climbed up twice. Got my plank down pretty good as well. Tried to do the advance, was too scared. I had a pretty good workout today though. Found out that i REALLY need to work on my abs today. Was laying on the floor playing around kicking my feet up to grab onto the pole…yeah, no go.
Anywho, thank you for the newbie section.. Hopefully the other newbies come out of the wood work and join me here https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Yeah thanks for the forum veena!
My burn is beginning to go away too, (though I haven’t been on my pole in a few days so don’t mark my words just yet) but the last time I climbed up to the top which was fun. And I also sat up for a few seconds, that probably sounds like nothing but the first few times I had to get off straight away, so staying up for 30 seconds is an achievement for me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif Now I can climb up and sit with my legs crossed so here’s hoping for more improvements from here on. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

isn’t that first good pole sit where you dont have to jump down great? I recorded it for myself, and the look on my face was priceless…especially when i was able to let go..go us! lol

i don’t mean to burst your bubble… but the burn kinda comes back whenever you try the crucifex and inverted crucifex. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif it’s pretty painful but when you do nail those moves, IT FEELS AWESOME! i feel as though i should be much farther than what i am, but i only get to pole once a week… if i’m lucky. but keep up the great work. let us know how things are going! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

Don’t worry saldivar it happen when you try new thing but won’t last for long. And don’t see it as you should be farther, if it was just me I wish I could do all the advance move. Don’t forget it not the destination, it the journey https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
And I have admit the first sit feel amazing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif and all the first that follow too. keep working girls https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif

thank you so much tiger tail! *big hugs https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif and you are right, it is the journey… i just wish that journey would leave less bruises hah ha!

lol..As long as im not going out in public, looking like i am beaten, i dont mind my victory bruises..just curious though, is there a reason why they are "dots" instead of a full bruise lol

heck, i wonder the same thing! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif i was thinking that it was from the subcutaneuos layer under the skin that was made of fat… somehow the fat leaves almost like a stamp on the dermis. well there is alot of fat on my thighs. fat stamping bruises…? well now that i type it down it sounds kinda stupid but that’s my theory. lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

Oh my goodness.
I know this is an older thread, but i just had to post!I finally did my first pole sit, hands free and everything.
After watching my mum and sister do it… on MY pole, i was beginning to think i would never be able to get used to the burn.
Then today BAM, all of a sudden i can do it after many attempts!
The burn isnt so bad now!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

this thread is a bit of relief…
Ive only done pole for 6 weeks and i seem to get the hang of moves faster than some people in my class but i cant handle the burn! it seems much worse for me?
i got into a magic carpet but it hurt so much!
I havent bruised anywhere either which i thought was weird!
so im holding out for hope that itll get better!!! -
