    When I bought my pole I did not do research I thought they are all the same. I went with the cheaper the better so I bought a peek a boo. I have improved alot but I am so scared to do any flips on it all I do is swing and climb. It hurts the connecting pieces cut me it just sucks. Now I am trying to convince me husband to buy me a xpole. Last month he said okay but now he is going back on his word. He feels like the xpole is the same and that I can do the same tricks on both poles. That I only want a xpole so I can spin. He says I am scared to do flips on mine that my pole is secure because when he installed it he bolted it into the ceiling and into the floor. Does anyone know of a site saying that these are not safe for flips ect. The chick on the peek a boo is doing one on the box but I am 180 pounds she is like 130. My pole has a permanent lean to it so not safe. Can someone tell me what I should say to convince him . Thanks

    Read this article I found on the internet from a studio owner that wrote her own informational guide to poles. I think this pretty much sums it up and I couldn’t have put it better myself: http://www.clevelandexoticdance.com/polearticle.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    Here is a specific quote from her article at the end about peekaboo dance poles:

    Please do not buy the Peekaboo Pole, Carmen Electra’s Pole (made by Peekaboo), or XTreme (or any questionable pole off of Ebay) unless you want a pole that you cannot perform spins or inverts on. These poles are to lean against and do sexy poses. I cannot consider them anywhere near the category of being professional poles.

    Hope that helps. Don’t want you to get hurt on something that is being used for what it is not intended for. Even though peekaboo pole site claims you can do everything on their pole you can do on an xpole- I really beg to differ. Need more convincing? Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8qBsb8G66U" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    (sorry you have to turn your head sideways to view the video…..there are multiple videos on youtube about the dangers of peekaboo dance poles.

    Veena has an awesome article on what makes a good pole somewhere on here and then I think it is Foxy Rei who did a video on "why peekaboo poles sucks" or some title like that.
    Or just google for things about good quality poles and tons of stuff will come up.
    He needs to know that they are not the same and it is dangerous for you to do much more than your doing on your pole.

    Yay! I’m glad he understands. Now you can be safe and have more fun (no ouchy scratches) when your x-pole arrives.
