I don’t have an xpole but I do have a ps superpole and had the same issue with the drop ceiling in my basement. I used to remove a tile and put the pole against the sub floor. It was ok but it needed to be tightened after use cause it would loosen…never to the point that it came off the ceiling but rather it would twist some in the stationary mode. My solution was to have a contractor make a small solid square area (i dont know what he used to make it) in the ceiling to put the top of the pole on. Ps sells pieces to their poles so you can make them shorter which is necessary with my drop ceiling. I don’t know if xpole does that but doesn’t hurt to check. You may just be able to put a sturdy piece of lumber against the sub floor and attach it to two joists and solve the problem too. Good luck!
