ok, I'm far from crafty (i pretend i am but it never convinces anyone but me) but i have a briliant idea for a prop for a dance i want to do, however in addition to lacking craft skills i lack grace balance and everything that keeps me from droping everything i'm carying.  I want to do a waitress theamed dance, and i thought it would be awesome to carry a wait tray, then i thought wouldn't it be awesome to be able to take drinks off the tray so that eliminated the easy idea of a lot of glue, so next thought magnets, do they make magnets strong enough to hold a beer bottle on a tray during a spin? anybody have any other ideas?

    How about stick-on velcro?

h'm i hadn't thought of that, do you think that velcro would hold a beer bottle during a spin, i have no idea the real strength of velcro so i'll have to give it a try.

If velcro will not work 3M also makes a velcro type hanger in theri Command line that is strong enough to hold pictures on the wall.

Both velcro and magnets both come in varying degrees of strength. Obviously the stronger the velcro or magnet, the higher the price tag. Cute dance theme idea, btw!

As far as the magnets go, you will be hard pressed to find a magnetic tray.  Most are going to be plastic or aluminum.

i was thinking about grabing some neo magnets, and hot glue i can handle i had figured at first to use magnet paint on a normal tray but then realised that it might be stuck to the tray, if it worked at all, but it could still slide so i was looking at gluing one magnet to the tray, then a smaller one to that divet in the bottom of a beer bottleso that sliding would be impossible.  i tried the velcro and it didn't work the sideways force on it undid the stick, so at this point i think if the magnets don't work i think i'm just going to have to glue them to the tray or get really graceful and learn to defy centrifugal force.
