So, I’ve been thinking about poles and their strength/usage. I’ve done a few doubles tricks at pole jams, and it seems to be a pretty common "party" type thing to see how many folks you can put on a pole at once. I think doubles is a great new frontier, but what about the pole itself? I think all the pole manufacturers recommend a weight limit around 200 lbs (give or take), and that limit would almost always be exceeded.

I suspect the spinning and jerking motions would be less with two dancers (or at least more balanced), but still… Even with tiny girls, you put four of them on a pole and you’ve gone twice the recommended weight limit.

Has anyone had any problems with this?

I know x-pole stopped putting a limit on their poles, because so many people kept "breaking" the limit and it still being really safe (if installed properly). So I think it depends on your pole and how well it has been put up.
