The exact same thing happened to my pole! I wasnt cleaning it with window cleaner, I was using alcohol but I was drying it completely and all that but I still have marks and a little rust on my pole! In fact the finish on my pole where I usually place my hands for spins seems to be worn. I dunno, maybe its normal…But it sure is irritating!

definately! seeing as you spend like £160.00 onit! I contacted the place where i got it and they said the newer poles (from 2009) are made of better stuff which doesnt rust, darn!

My pole’s only a month old, and when I was putting it together the first time I noticed a bit of rust inside the tubes, which is apparently normal. Also, last week I thought I noticed the part I hold to spin wearing down, which I hope was my imagination (I think it may have been!), because it shouldn’t be, especially not so soon?! Is there any way window cleaner could damage it, even though the manual recommends it?
