    Hey guys,

Anyone seen an anchored diva to archer before? I was hoping to go no handed anchored diva and arch back more at the same time as releasing the legs, hooking the top foot and grabbing the pole with my hands/arms before quickly swinging the other leg out in front. Ha. Pole moves are always better in my dreams…lol. Wasn’t sure if it was even possible, but it kind of is?

I like how my legs are in the first few, but the foot and hand/arm grabs are better in the last few.

Let me know what you think. Is it doable? Can anyone do it smoother/faster/prettier?

Ooh, saw a rubber foot lock move: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG75RdeYEbc&feature=sub at 1.38 … (rubber reverse thigh hold?) which could be great dropped from an anchored diva too, but not as ‘droppy’.

It’s good to see this tried, because I’ve imagined it a few times too! (When I daydream up routines, in which I am way more fantastic than I am IRL hahaha!) I’ll try it next time I practice, and post a vid up of my attempts. If I remember. Lol!

I know! In my head I am always like ‘yeah, I can so do that!’ and watching other people I go ‘I can do that too!’ and then I get on my pole at home without the motivation of a class behind me and an instructor in front and I go three moves in succession of an imagined routine and *flap*, I’m on the ground having slid out of the last move ungracefully and lie there out of mojo. Might not help that I always practice at home AFTER work and classes, and there are great distractions like the internet and dvds and way more excuses too. *sigh*

I just had to try this one to see if it was physically possible. Sometimes I’ve ‘come up’ with something and go to try it and work out half way through that I am an idiot and the human body does NOT bend that way… I hang my head in shame a lot for the benefit of my furry audience…heh heh.

Do you pole daydream ALL the time? I can’t stare into space or close my eyes without seeing me or someone else nailing a move or sequence. My mp3 player is set permanently to play my pole practice music and I’m always scribbling lists of moves I know, need to practice, need to smooth out, want to learn, want to combine…on the bus and train. I YouTube view way too much and have gone a little crazy on here with the posting and reading and watching. I go to two back-to-back classes and have to calm myself down that there’s no third class to jump right into and have to physically restrain myself from going to reception to book in for more. I can barely afford the current extent of my fully blown addiction as it is. So, I feel a little ashamed sometimes that my ability does not as quickly match the level of my enthusiasm and ‘pole exposure’ as my instructor would have it. Aaaand…I’ve done it again and gotten carried away.

I salute you, fellow pole addict https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I LOVE the drop you invented! With a little more practice it could be a real showstopper!!

BTW, I think the move you pointed out in the YT vid is called ‘Dangerous D’. (so be careful https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif )

Hi! I haven’t been posting much for AGES, as I’m in Australia travelling so I don’t have my own pole anymore, which is HARD for me! I just had to reply to this post, a: because I LOVE this combo idea and can’t wait to try it, and b: because, as MilienElayne also says, it’s been keeping me awake for the last three nights!!!

when I first left the UK in July, I was going crazy pretty much all the time from lack of pole, but after a month or so I got used to it. BUT then I arrived in Perth in October, and signed up to Bobbi’s (where I was taught by the fabulous Allegra!) and have been completely bitten by the bug again… I’m not doing classes now as I’m leaving Perth again soon *sniff* but I’m still practicing a couple of times a week, but it’s just not enough since I’m used to having my own pole and practicing every single day. I daydream and nightdream pole combos, one’s I can do that I want to get better and smoother and add more to, and ones I’ve never even tried that may well be impossible – can’t tell til I try them!

I’ve wanted to go travelling with my husband for years, and now I’m away all I want to do is pole all the time! Grrrr!

So thanks MilienElayne for the fabulous idea (I will be trying it on Monday if you don’t mind, will try to get a vid. I want to try Anchored Diva – Bow and Arrow – Reverse Inverted Thigh Hold – Bow – Brass Monkey… and maybe more depending how near to the floor i end up by that point…!)
And also thank you as it’s always nice to hear how addicted other people are. I’m glad it keeps other people up at night too! If I had unlimited money and time in Perth, I’d be doing every single class Bobbi’s offers.

    Happy poling everyone!

No minding here https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif Would love to see anyone’s videos of this move! I am SO jealous you got to take classes at Bobbi’s, Caitlin! I am the same, I would take every single class available if I had the time and money. My skin is crawling today because I have to have a pole free day as I have a big beading deadline and I also start aerial preparation at NICA on Monday night and don’t want to be sore or worn out for that. My pole is sitting 3 metres from me in the living room and it calls to me. Oh dear.

    So. A Mili Drop Update!

I’ve practiced it once more since my first attempts and I couldn’t even hook my foot properly for a plain archer, so BOO! I’m going to practice practice practice though, when I get the chance. Darn having to work all day off pole for my money…lol.

But, all of the instructors at my studio have now seen my video and are impressed. One has attempted it and loves it. No-one has perfected it yet there though, I believe. However, they love it so much they’ve invited me to come in and be a part of a video shoot when one of the instructors does perfect it so they can upload it to YouTube and their website.

It’s like it’s a race! It’s between Veena, Fleur, Pole Divas and me (so far) to see who can get video footage up of a complete Mili Drop first. I’m going to lose https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif Ha ha. No, no, it’s not a race. Lol. I’m just excited.

This move is apparantly ‘very dangerous’ but every move has that potential, right?

Another update. Worked on this a tiny bit today. Still looks so crap when I do it, but I have worked out that I need to shift my butt over to one side to get a proper foot hook. No wonder I wasn’t getting it. Duh! Also, my anchored diva has actually gotten worse. On a good day I used to be able to lay it right back horizontal. So… no no-handed anchored diva for me! I blame my thighs slimming down still. Now I actually have to use muscle and I just can’t squeeze that hard yet! Anyhoo. Vid won’t upload. Maybe tomorrow.
