    Hi Everyone!

My name is Raven and I’m from BC Canada. I descovered Pole Dance through the "related items" box on youtube one day more than a year ago and it was love at first sight.

I compete internationally in a wonderfull sport called Equstrian Vaulting (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quSM218Qvps this video is some clips from various world championships and World Equestrian Games) For more info check out http://www.vaultcanada.org

Initially when i first brought up the subject of pole dance my husband (then fiancee) was etreemly skeptical but he is also our National vaulting coach – and thus my coach, so I played it to him as cross training, I showed him video of Felix and he was convinced. My X-pole arrived on my birthday.

Unfourtunately my life has been insanely crazy this last year, between our wedding, my husband’s brother’s wedding US Natioanls, North American Young Rider Championships, A World Games qualifying competition and Candian Nationals I havn’t really had time to learn much more on the pole then the baisc spins from the DVD that came with the X-Pole and a couple of other basic moves from youtube video. So now, I’m planning on taking class at the Goddess Movement (I’d learn from the internet but my husband thinks that I need a social life so this kills to birds with one stone)

    Arg excuses excuses.

    Cheers,

    Sanchara

Welcome! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif I love equestrian vaulting! It always looks so amazing and incredibly difficult. Hopefully life gets less hectic so you can start poling more.

Vaulting is a lot like poleing – basic spins are easy, and so is fun stuff at the walk. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif as soon as I recover from my pulled hammstring I’ll be back on the horse and the pole! …and every other exercise apparatus I can get my hands/feet on https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Oooh. I .. know there’s another pole dancer who does the horse-vaulting business as well! I don’t know their name, but I was like, "..interesting, but compatible mix"

Good luck at Goddess. I don’t know who they are, what they are, but it always looks to me like BC has the earthiest pole studios. I want to go and be earthy!

Yup ^^ That’s why they make such great cross training for eachother. The Godess movement is like….the only pole studio in Chilliwack…
I guess BC is just a generally earthy place^^

Hello! I’m also from BC (on the island), and it’s wonderful to know there are others! Also, kinda jealous…I love horses, but don’t have the time or money to invest in lessons. There’s very little for me to take pole lessons, which is why the internet is great!

you don’t have to own your own horse to vault, the clubs own the horses. but i know how it can be with time. Between work (I’m a webdesigner and database administrator) continued studdies (I’m learning to programme) and sports I have no room for any sort of social life.
