Since there are folks from all over on this site, do most of you use the same names for the moves? I know there is a Gemini/Scorpio controversy, but are most things standard? It seems like wikipole will make the names more standardized, but I wondered if there was some group blessing the names, or did they just develop?

    Thanks so much!

I think it depends on what part of the world you are from. I have seen stuff like a Carousel being called a Frog… or the Chair as I know it is called the Carousel. LOL… I think most of us are aware of the differences in names and the fact that we are from all over the globe. You won’t get yelled at here. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Some things are standard but I don’t understand why there isn’t a standard name for everything in pole dance. It is not like in ice skating… You would never hear a Triple Axel be called a Thrice Weezel, you know?

    You are too funny ABC’s

But yeah, I wish there was one basic name for every move but unfortunately it just doesnt work that way. On Wikipole it does list alternative names for the moves (some of them anyway) but a lot of us are pretty familiar with the different lingo, since this site has members from all over. Im sure we could figure out what you are talking about https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif

Thank you so much for the wikipole.org link! I have been looking through this all night at work and putting together my goal moves for the next several months! Not to mention how much this site is going to help me in my latest art project- a scrapbook of my own progress. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
