I ordered my gloves a couple days ago, they should be here soon https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I’m getting the black non-tack ones, wonder if they’re the right size… Do let us know how they work for you!
I’ve used the Mighty Grip powder before and it didn’t really work for me. Apparently it’s good for dancers with dry hands who just want some extra stickiness. Maybe you could put it under the gloves and on your fingertips https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

After my workshop with Sally-Ann Giles this past weekend I became a firm believer in Mighty Grip Gloves. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif

They don’t work for everything, and can be quite annoying for most things. However, when learning a new trick they add that layer of protection and one less thing to worry about… not having your hands slip. I don’t think I will use them on any trick I’ve already mastered… but for learning body positioning and the mechanics of a move, the gloves sure help.

I just got my gloves and they’re nice and grippy and all, BUT. If I do split grip stuff (extended butterfly, aysha etc), my top hand gets pulled out of the glove and off the pole, it feels really dangerous. Like the gloves are sticking to the pole more than to my skin so they stay on the pole and my hand slides out https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Anyone with the same problem?

Apart from this they’re so useful (even though you can’t spin in them), I made lots of progress on the elbow grip aysha https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Mighty Grip sent me some gloves to try them out to see if I would sell them on my website (http://www.houseofpole.net) and I tried them out and honestly me personally….I won’t really do much with them. I have the same problem as stated above. I feel like I slide out of them in split grip and it doesn’t feel secure. They say to put mighty grip powder inside of them but that didn’t help me much (I’m not a nig fan of the powder anyway, more of a Dry Hands girl myself). That being said….I also don’t have a problem with sweaty hands so maybe they will work better for someone with that issue. I am still going to sell them because I know people that like them and I don’t think they’re unsafe or a bad idea, but I also saw a poler rip through hers during a workshop this past weekend at the convention. LOL She came runnin out to the mighty grip table like "Look at the gloves you just sold me!" LOL. I think that if you don’t have a grip problem they might be more of a hinderance.

    I do not like them.

I will admit though that I have used close fitting nitrile gloves from work while trying new inverts but those are $6 a case of 100 and I could care less if they rip or roll. I have contemplated trying liquid latex but am not sure how durable that stuff is. I always thought it might be cool to paint some designs on your legs with it.

Sissy…I wish that I was able to take pictures….went to a black light party a few months back. I bought the black light hairspray, which is clear in normal light and then blue/white in black light. I had my clear pumps, green/pink/white knee sox, white shorts, green bra and pink fishnet top. I had sprayed the hairspray into a cup and proceeded to paint myself (I have a black light at home). When the regular lights went off at midnight and they just had black lights I got up and poled. I GLOWED!!!!

Now we return to our regularly scheduled topic…..

Lol Sissy…I’ve actually been body painted before and done pole work and for the most part if it’s done right the liquid latex stays on. Chem my friend David who does my pics and I are gonna do a new pole shoot with another friend Giovanni who’s a body paint artist, I’ll have to get you in on it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif As for the gloves I’ve never tried them but I have tried the mighty grip powder and like Sissy I’m a dryhands girl!

If the paint doesn’t stay on maybe it’ll smear off in cool patterns. LOL I wanna go to a super cool body paint photo shoot https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

sissy are you going to carry the gloves at house of pole??

I think for learning some of the inverts they might help me on my slippery Minx. I have the driest hands on earth https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif and my husband likes it cold in the house so my pole rarely even gets the slightest bit warm. I love the days when it is a touch humid and we don’t have the air on, I’m a pole superstar. then days like today with the air on I can’t do jack. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif

Is this the guy who does the airbrush painting? I know he was at Kickstand a few times and he was at the Arnold too this year.

    This guy:

Ummm…yeah, that is all airbrushed. I know I have seen a bunch of his other work but cannot find it right now.
