StudioVeena.com Forums Discussions If you don’t have our lessons why?

I would be really disappointed to see the member videos made only available to people who pay for lessons. Especially with YouTube causing issues with music when we upload vids. Not to mention that this is the only place that I share certain videos that I make – like the sexier of the two videos I did for UPA’s Bringing Sexy Back week.

I think that adding a fee on for example the video section would “cost more than it tastes” for studioveena, people would watch vids elsewhere.

A better way to increase revenue could be to split the lessons into sections (pole/condtioning+stretch) and set them to something that in total adds up to more than 99$. At the same time, introduce the longer free trial period to not make the increase in price as painful (for those who know of the current price). Maybe old subscribers could be allowed to keep the lessons for the same fee as now another subcription year or so, to reduce the risk of loosing them.

If there is a split, it will also be easier for the ones who have problem paying everything in one go, they could start with one of the two. No one really seem to think your prices are high, it’s just that some can’t pay it all at once.

    Also just ideas.

Or what about adding on some kind of pay-per-lesson option? Kind of like the way you can buy a full album on Itunes or just one song.

Even a donation button somewhere would be useful for members who might want it say thanks for all the time and work that goes into this site.
I also want to add that I agree with everyone else here who thinks the price for the lessons are a complete steal for what they are worth.

But just to throw in an idea, since there is the option to pay $20 dollars for access to the full site maybe an option could be that if you pay for the month you can extend for the year minus the already paid $20 (I don’t know if it’s already like that)

I think the donation button is a great idea! It’d be an easy way for those of us who appreciate what you do, but for whatever reason don’t become paid members to say thank you. It’s easy to setup with paypal too.

    A few things:

    1) WOW!!! This is becoming an amazing thread. The value you guys attribute to Veena’s lessons is amazing. There are some great ideas here which is what we were really looking for with this thread.

    2) Don’t anyone worry. While we appreciate that there are people who find that much value here, we will not charge for any feature other than the lessons. When Veena started pole dancing the forums available were catty and mean, Youtube was and still is less than ideal and the pole community was fragmented. One of our core values is to provide the community features completely free of charge so that pole dancers never have to experience that again. this is very very important to us.

    3) It seems that the range of available financial arrangements might not be super clear, so I might need to work on that. If the $99 is too much for someone up front your have the $20 per month and the $35 per month, additionally every new user gets sent an early upgrade option giving you the first month for $10 if you want to try it, and as many of you are aware we run sales quite frequently as well.

We so appreciate the love we get from the community, and while its hard work from the time we wake up until the time we go to bed this is an endeavor thats worth it. It’s nice to hear that you all realize that Veena’s rapid responses come at a cost, I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been about to go to bed sometime north of midnight and Veena still has just a couple comments she’s got to reply to before bed or one more email.

I want you to know how much you all mean to her.

After putting in the promo code for the 3 days free, I can definitely see why it’s worth paying for. The lessons are explained really clearly, and it’s easy to find exactly what you want to see. The quality is a lot better than most of the tutorials on YouTube. I don’t have a pole at home, but it’s a great reference to go over before going to a studio. I will most likely be getting the membership soon 🙂

I keep justifying it as “I shouldn’t get the lessons until I get on a consistent pole schedule.” But now that I think of it, paying for lessons might force me to pole consistently!

I had the lessons back in 2008. I never renewed because life has gotten in the way. I now own and operate my own studio and now it’s just a matter of having time to even use my membership. I had a membership to another video service and I rarely used it.

I had the lessons for a little over a year. There’s several reasons I didn’t renew.
    1. At the point that my subscription was up I had mastered everything on the site a while ago and hadn’t used the lessons for several months. I understand that there is new advanced content now, but it’s hard to justify the $99 to learn one or two new moves. I, however, think the $99 is an amazing deal for someone who can use more of the lessons and always tell my students about it!
    2. My focus has become doubles pole and any “for me” pole time I have away from teaching is focusing on doing that.

That being said if there were “how to teach” this move lessons on here for pole instructors I would be signed up in a heartbeat! I love how Veena breaks down the moves, explains points of contact and what muscle groups are being used. Even if it was just a supplemental audio to the same video with her talking through how she would teach a move.

Many instructors use the lessons, and very successfully. They’re broken down in a way instructors can use and descriptions add extra insight, like muscles used and so on. There are far more than 2 advanced lessons on the way. 😐 However, There are many ridiculously advanced Pro level, pole moves out there, far to much flexibility or the level of danger in executing is far to high for me to create lessons for. I want usuable, informative content.

Darcit…You were doing doubles with your man right? Are you two still working together, because that’s pretty cool!

I haven’t tried it yet because I found that I was over-subscribed to too many online lessons that I then did not use, so it has nothing to do with the quality of the work. Is there still a promo code for 3 days free? I’d like to try it out to see if I change my mind about it at least for a little while. I’m really glad that Veena provides this service!

Yes the code still works and no my lessons are not like all the others! They are structured, in order so you progress from move to move and you can ask me questions on any lesson any time and I’ll reply ASAP! Also I’ve got many routines and combos, both for pole work and strength and conditioning. 💜

Hi There. I really enjoy and appreciate the style of teaching on your site. I used to have the lessons, but then I reached the point where I needed more advanced levels and variations. Although…I did find one once of the marion amber, I think, and haven’t seen it on the list since. Am I missing it? Or is my memory on crack? Also, I am always very tempted by these deals. I thought I actually paid for a year membership back in January or February, but maybe it’s the paypal problems others are talking about, since, when I went to sign on, I wasn’t a member. I haven’t had problems with Paypal on any other occasion though. 🙂

If you haven’t had the lessons since before I’ve uploaded the Marley, then you’ve also missed several new pole lessons, floorwork and the 30 combos and several strength and conditioning routines that are killer workouts.

I didn’t receive a notice that my lessons were about to expire. Reaching out to members whose accounts are about to expire would probably help.

I agree with that. I have the lessons but I never know when my subscription is going to run out. One day the lessons just don’t work anymore and I have to stop what I am doing, get my credit card, and repurchase before I can continue. It would be nice to get a warning of some kind before it happens.

I do use what I learned from the lessons in teaching, for sure! For additional instructor audio I was meaning things like “here’s tips on how to spot this move safely” or “here’s a different way of explaining/thinking through/breaking down this move”. I just know that every time I hang out with other instructors I learn a ton and get a bunch of new ideas just by hearing/seeing how they cue students and correct problems. So that’s kinda what I was thinking…. I have no idea how/if it would work – it’s just additional content that I would be willing to pay for 🙂
And yeah, we’re still doing doubles together – PDA competition and (hopefully) Midwest Presentational this fall!

Excellent question! When I first started using StudioVeena 3 or so years ago I wished it had routines and combos because my biggest challenge was putting together moves for routines, especially ones that were my level but didn’t use too many filler moves. Your new combos would have been so helpful for me then, I think it’s great that you’ve added those! I did feel that some of the very first routines got old faster than new ones of the same level were available, and so I waited a long time to renew my lessons with the idea that the longer I waited the more new content would be posted for me to learn. I wasn’t interested in paying a higher price per month for a shorter amount of time once I had done the year subscription.

I had the same issue once I started learning aerial holds, inversions and spin technique. There weren’t any lessons for combos, ways to transition from hold to hold, inversion to inversion (except leg hang switches) and so I began looking elsewhere. I’m so glad there will be more advanced lessons coming out soon. I can understand the liability issue with the ridiculously advanced moves that most home polers can’t or shouldn’t try on their own or without a spotter, but I found StudioVeena.com to be very limited as far as combos, routines, and fresh variations for basic inversions or just off the ground holds. Even the advanced routines don’t include many off the ground holds, or inversions, which was disappointing to me.

I know Veena is super busy and can’t just churn out new content all the time. I still think that Veena’s lessons are the best value out there and the most comprehensive for home polers starting from scratch or suplementing their studio classes by practicing at home. I think for me to want to re-purchase the year subscription year after year there needs to be enough new content on my level to keep me busy for a year, and it’s kind of a downer to pay more per month for a shorter time period after having the year subscription, I’d rather just wait until I see there is enough new content to keep me busy before buying my next year.

Someone suggested offering single lesson prices…what about pricing for subscriptions to individual sections? Like the advanced section for those who have maxed out on the beginner and intermediate content? Or the flexibility section for those only interested in using the flexibility lessons? Maybe even level packages for Beg. Int. or Adv. that include strength and flexibility lessons? I don’t know if that would take away from the overall subscription base. Having so much content available is great, especially for instructors, but for the home student who is not breezing through beginning to advanced levels in the span of 12 months it could be nice to only have to pay for what you can use in a year.

The only other solution I can think of is maybe guest instructors, I would especially love that for combos and routines!

So in short nilla you progressed beyond the content available in the lessons and you would be interested in more combos and routines. Would that be correct?

Regarding the statement “for the home student who is not breezing through beginning to advanced levels in the span of 12 months it could be nice to only have to pay for what you can use in a year.” It is important to note that you are paying for far less than you can accomplish in a year.

If you go to a studio you will pay for every lesson regardless of whether you improve or not. In this situation you are truly paying for what you can accomplish in a year. If it takes you 12 sessions to learn the fireman spin you pay for 12 sessions, if it takes you 5 sessions you will pay for 5. At StudioVeena.Com you pay one very reasonable fee then use our lessons as much as you would like.

Please think of it as learn all you want for $99 or $20/month or $35 every two months, rather than mentally assigning a value to each lesson based on an amortization of the fee divided by a number of lessons. With about 400 lessons that makes each lesson worth a quarter which I think everyone here would agree is absolutely not the case.

I want to be clear the pricing discussion isn’t just a reply to nilla. I just wanted to be clear on what our pricing philosophy is.

With StudioVeena.Com you can be a fast learner and learn as much as you want without paying for more content. Conversely if you don’t catch on as fast you can continue to learn for the same fee without having to pay for more lessons. It’s truly a win win.

The pricing options we have now really are the best mix that allow you the lowest cost entry into the content while still allowing us to operate the site.
