I wish I had a top loading pole
Posted by Dancing Paws on July 26, 2011 at 11:41 pmI can see that x pole changed the design to be for ease of set up, but honestly, I hate the bottom loading feature of my pole. I try to spin on it, and I cannot spin all the way down to the floor bc I unscrew the adjustor cover. To avoid touching the cover, my spins get sloppy. I hate it. I am all for them going back to a top loading option.

Have you tried to screw your adjuster cover on tightly after you’re finished with it?
I have NEVER had any issues with this! (But then again, mine’s always on spin mode and very very rarely in static)Maybe you’re gripping too tightly when spinning?

I haven't tightened it REALLY tight. I wouldn't think that would matter. It doesn't come completely unscrewed, just starts coming unscrewed. I have my pole on stationary almost all the time.

@sensual i have the exact same problem too, it is totally frustrating!! i rarely have my pole on spin mode too. i cant wait to get a different pole!! =)
-
Me too. Looks like I get to wait at least another year. My apartment lease is up and I have to sign for another year…so I can't get a pole Danzer pole for a year since it requires screws *gasp*
I am totally gonna pester all the foreign pole companies to start franchising to the U.S. since it sounds like they all have better poles!

Have you contacted X Pole? It sounds to me like you may just need to replace the O Ring.

Same happened to me the other day when I learned Reverse Grab . It's the first spin I've done where a hand has been low enough to touch that, and when I did it right handed, my left hand just unscrewed the adjuster cover completely 'til it dropped down.
There's no O rings on that bit to my knowledge. It's only the aesthetic bit / to stop you getting grease all over stuff from the screw thread, so no risk of undoing the pole itself, but still, it's a nuisance.
Could be that doing it up tighter would solve the problem, but until the other day, I'd never had trouble with it, so erred on the side of caution in regards to not risking damaging the thread.

My pole is on static more than spinny, and I have never had an issue with the adjuster cover coming undone in the almost 2 years I've had it. Now, I've just replaced my TG 45 with the new Brass 45, and I installed it myself as opposed to my son installing it for me, so we'll see if it makes a difference, but I would think you just haven't tightened the adjuster cover enough.

Mine has an O ring at the very top of the threads. If yours does not, it should. This is probably the reason it is unscrewing so easily for you. Call X Pole!
-
I have mine on static most of the time and am a spin queen I like to spin more then anything and haven't had it come down, loosened it some once doing the fireman 600 times.
-
Ah, mine does have one O ring, but since my ceiling height leaves my pole at the top end of it's adjustment range, that's quite a long way below the (adjuster cover) thread. I figured that was designed to stop the adjuster cover rattling on the bottom section of pole, as it's below the height adjustment thread, rather than to secure it at the top.
I don't see anywhere above the height adjustment thread that an O ring could locate.
I emailed earlier today about dodgy X-joints anyway, so when I get a reply I could ask about that 🙂

I will have to look at mine more closely when I get home. I just remember there being an o-ring. Mine is nearly impossible to unscrew so I know there is no way I can do it when I am spinning.
-
No o ring on mine. X pole said there should not be one. I tightened the cover though, maybe that will help.
-
I have the 45 mm TG Xpole and I've not had a problem with the adjuster cover. There was one time it started to unscrew, but I just tightened it and I've never had it happen again.

If you get an answer please let us know… the one in the studio I go to comes unscrewed ALL THE TIME!!! drives me crazy!
