    Hi all,

I am from the midlands and would love to be able to do more than I can.I have had three lessons so far and have discovered that I have no upper body strength any more https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I spent most of my childhood doing ballet and then moved into ice dancing.I had upper body control and it has gone since I had the three children. If anyone sees my core strength please can you send it back to me.

I made the big mistake of getting a peekaboo pole and after pulling it from the ceiling I have decided that I need something more substantial.I think I have become slightly scared of the pole now.Any ideas how to make it less?

    Welcome to the site! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Peekaboo poles are no good, unfortunately you had to find out the bad way, eek! Dont be scared of all poles though. There are some AMAZING brands out there that will not come crashing down. Xpole is fab & is based in the UK so shipping for you should be quite reasonable. Platinum Stages & Lil Mynx are also good poles (but i myself havent tried them). Any other brand are iffy and i wouldnt risk it or waste the money. The poles mentioned above are a bit pricy BUT they are VERY much worth the money.

When I first started I made the mistake of getting a Little Sexy Pole and that thing was ALWAYS coming loose. Spring loaded extenders are crap! But yeah, then I went to an Xpole and believe me, once you try a pole thats really made for pole dancing your fear of doing a spin and it falling over will become nonexistent https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif

There are some topics in the "Poles" section of the forum that would probably be helpful and reassuring for you as well.

    Hope that helps! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif
