I’ve been building some strength in the past couple months and finally decided to give spinny mode a whirl. I cannot hang on with one arm at all!! I feel like I’m just going to fling off even if I don’t kick off with any momentum and try to go slow!

Is this a common problem? How do I progress??

Holding on with one arm on spinny is very advanced! You need LOTS of strength to do it.

To improve strength do more one-armed tricks on static pole and push yourself harder on them. Kick out further, spin faster, do it more times etc. Remember to do it on both sides!

Also, you can do wrist curls, and squeezing exercises (a stress ball for example) to build up forearm strength.

Thanks for this thread, bebeduckie! I just tried out my new XPole yesterday in spinny and I couldn’t do ANY of my split grip or one-handed spins. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif Now I know why! Except for the cradle spin, which I actually found to be easier in spin mode. The standing fireman was a BLAST! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I could’ve gone forever on that one. I adore spin mode, but it’s a whole new world for me.

BTW, I was absolutely, eyelid-droopingly exhausted after the session and quite sore in the shoulders. Is this normal with spinny? Is there anywhere I can find spinny tips or lessons? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i hate the annoying piece on top of the xpole where it covers the inside screw! it keeps falling down and i’ve resorted to taping it on top, but when i put it on spinny i can’t have it taped there =(. i wish i knew before i put it up to not even put that piece on!! now my pole is locked tight and i can’t get it down, nor do i want to try to get it straight again…took forever!

kinda discourages me from trying spinny again =/. how are you girls progressing on it?
