@Water – you just cancel your current subscription using the cancel link on the Account page, then when your subscription runs out you can upgrade to the year memebership.

I love pole dvds (have 3)! I am waiting on my AOP + routines 1&2, should be here next week. I will look into these also. That being said I wouldn’t trade my gold Veena subscription for any of them. She is constantly updating and adding. A dvd is done, this site is ever expanding.

yep, i think Veena is by far the best resource, i have many dvds but funny thing is i never really follow and stay with the dvd lessons 😛 but within the first 2 weeks of Veena's lessons, i actually feel more motivated and see my progress. i should have sign up a long time ago.

I just looked at the site and it appears that you have to order the complete set of five and it works out at £112 pounds to the UK,   I know someone has already posted this info but I thought maybe I could order individual  dvds.  There is another site for felix offering the dvds for individual sale but when I tried with paypal it didnt work!!!  Anyway I think I"ll wait for reviews and then try to order .

I will end up getting them as I said I'm a DVD junkie. Which is sort of odd since I don't feel I learn from them or Veena's lessons nearly as well as I do from live instructors. I actually gave up my subscription to Veena's lessons not because I didn't think they were good but because of having to redown load them everytime. At first I was on dial up and it would take 2 hours to load a lesson. Now I have a wireless card but having to download them everytime eats up my 5g for the month, a dvd I can replay 9zillion times without downloading again or continueing to pay. But my far prefered method is to drive 3-6 hours and take a workshop or a private lesson with a good teacher. lol or go campout in Empy's house for a few days!

@ Nymphdancer  Hi, mailto:I@ve got  three dvds as I started with vertical dance workout with K T Coates , Lucy Misch pole excercise dvd which is good but sort of takes you through moves in no particular order of strength and I got a little disheartened.  I recently got the art of pole 3, as Ive learnt to invert and chopper inverted crucifix etc,  There are no classses near  me and I think I am going to save for Veenas Gold but I was interested in Felix's intermediate dvd for now , do you recommend any others for an intermediate (just!!) are the Bespun dvds good?  Any advice appreciated.

I like bespun's for putting together short series of moves, samething I like the Art of Pole routines ones for. Veena now has routines in hers as well, but I'm not sure how they are set up. For learning moves I lean more towards liking the art of pole. But as I said I actually struggle to learn from dvd's. Even though I have a great memory it is hard to figure out what comes next while your upside down in the air…..

I own, (yes i'm a junkie) the whole art of pole series inculding her tease dvd and both routines ones. all three shelia kelly s factor dvd's (its where I got my start) All three bespun dvd's and the 3 bespun's on conditioning, foam roller and flexibility. Fawnia's pole play, JK Defies Gravity Extreme Polework, Shauwn Frances Lee's Slink, slide and melt. Vertical Dance 1 and 2, Pantera's poletricks, Polecats (shauwn frances lee) Live Onces new Chair Dance dvd and I ordered both of Alethea's dvd's. Not to mention my teacher training DVD https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

@ Nymphdancer Is the Vertical Dance 2 dvd good,  I started with the first one but the music is aaaahhhh!!! and I wondered if the intermediate/advaced dvd is worth getting.  As .I'm in the Uk the postage on some of the dvds really bumps the price up.  I might just get rest of the art of pole, its challenging but really well explained by Jamilla, and as I dont go to lessons I do need a good visual,

There are around 350 lesson!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I have Full length routines Jamillas are shorter but good, I don't know about any of the other dvds. My routines are all round 1:30 and I break down the routines and have slow motion for them as well. I have a Pole Strength routine that is a full workoutl…I think its about 15-30 mins Depending on the level of difficulty you choose. I also have Foam rolling lessons, and 2 NEW stretching routines 20 mins EACH for stretching your splits. They will be posted next week. There are transitions and floorwork too. And ever so important conditioning work just for pole dancers https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gifHere is a sample of a beginner routine (the instructions are not included, was too long for YT at the time) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GoiX0lvguE&feature=channel_video_title

Here is list of all the routines I have so far….

FeeDen yes the music on Veritcal dance 1 drove me nuts too. Along with the marching around the pole lol. 2 is better.

I actually like sort routines, even Jamillas are too long to really do without watching the dvd the small sequences on Bespun are great for putting together 3-4 things. I can remember that and its easy to put them in a longer routine. As I said I haven't seen Veena's though.

My lessons are set up so you don't HAVE to watch…I tell you what you should do. You watch first, then listen while doing, that is how they are designed https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Oh I should add each routine is split into sections so you can learn one section and work on it for a few days then move on to the next!

that is how Jamilla's are too but I can't remember 8 counts of 8 when I'm done and want to put it to MY music istead of her music and her voice.  Maybe I just have a crappy memory. So I just break them down even further. But at least on hers I don't have to keep using my limited G's of download to keep watching over and over until I get it which I know is not a problem for those with unlimited internet but that is not the case for me.

Thanks Veena I definitely think this would be my best option.  I think once summer holidays are over I will get the Gold subscription as it works out at such good value for a years tuition and it would give me some structure to my pole workouts.

I don't use 8 counts…because most ppl are not use to that.

yep I know. And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your lessons for people with fast internet and no limits on their downloads they would be great. But like right now just trying to load the youtube one it was jerky and took a long time to download, when I had your lessons I had dial up and it was even more of a pain. If I go to a cyber cafe I can watch them but then by the time I get back to a pole I'm like now what did she say? I'd still be a dvd junkie, but I would most likely have yours too if they were easier to deal with.

Ok good! 🙂 I didn't want you feeling like I was trying to force you to buy lessons!! I know your internet isn't optimal for video. I just was responding to issues you had with other dvds so others could see I had addressed those in my lessons. I'm very proud of the work I have done for all of you. xoxo

@ Veena- I think your lessons are awesome. I got certified in pole dance a few months ago, and everything you teach is pretty much spot on what i learned during the process. The points of contact, etc etc, are all things i learned. Awesome work! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I wanted to add to the convo that I have quite a few dvds as well but Veena’s lessons are the best, most informative and it’s been great to watch the professionalism and content expand so greatly – but not being able to download them has been such an inconvenience that I have not renewed. I refuse to buy a smart phone for security reasons and my pc is not always connected to the net. I miss the lessons but it’s just not convenient to be attached to an online computer for something so physically interactive. 🙁

For anyone interested I emailed Felix Cane site and they said they were currently updating the site to offer the option of buying individual dvds instead of just the box set and also felix's  clothing line.  It should be up and running with these adjustments in the next two weeks. 🙂

thanks everyone for the info on the various dvd's!!  my only dvd is pantera's pole 101 (which is pretty advanced) and sheila kelley's s factor 2 (good for a warm-up).  any dvd's i decide to buy will be in addition to Veena's lessons, not instead!!  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif  also wanted to add (for those with slow or no internet connections) that the pole dance community's syllabus of pole moves CD-ROM is great, it is very inexpensive, and i was able to put it on my computer so i don't need the disc.  i'm definitely going to look into the Art of Pole, BeSpun, and Felix's new ones.  🙂
