    Hi girlies,

Im currently looking for some simple excercises that can burn lots of calories in an hours workout.

i don’t have weights or any other fitness equipment apart from my pole hehe but id like to know some great excercise moves that i can just simply do to some music.

    Any suggestions much appreciated https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    Hi Ya,

I like to use my Wii fit, that always gives me a great warm up and its a good laugh.

If I’m trying to burn calories I use my pole but I try to challenge myself (like the Veena monthly challenges) eg: Dance continuously to 2 songs using spins, inverts and linking moves.
Do a full song of just floorwork
I also try to do lots of ripples and pole squats as these work the areas I’m trying to tone.

Also the FHM high street honeys vid is pretty cool.

    Good luck!

I have a wii fit too but I never use it as a warm up. That’s such a good idea!!!!

(Note to self…move wii into pole room)

    What are ripples?

As far as home excercises there is tons of stuff you can do! It would all depend on what you want to work https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Here’s what I would do, I’d do an internet search for exercises using "body weight". Once you find some moves that work on the areas you’re concerned about add about a minute of cardio inbetween each one, for example…

pushups for 30 seconds…1 minute of running in place….20 squats…….1 minute of jump rope……20 lunges…….1 minute of mountain climbers.

Mixing cardio in there boosts your heart rate and racks up the calorie count https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif

-Running/jogging? You only need a good sports bra and running shoes. Relatively cheap compared to poling. LOL.
-The "Cardio Kickbox" from the Biggest Loser series or Jillian is an awesome 25 minute workout and you can burn up to 300 calories!
-I love doing really high intensity dancing at home… add some squats and kicks.

You can find the Honeys DVD online, here’s a link to an amazon copy
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d.html/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/276-6868135-3090232?a=B000M06KJS
that’s the link I got from my phone, it may be a little different on the pc.

the move I call the ripple may be known as something different to others but basically it’s where you stand facing the pole and roll your body in and out like a ripple in an ocean. It really works your abs.

    Hope this helps xx
