Ok so I apologize if this ends up being long…where do I start? I try to do at least one full body detox each year..and well it is that time (I’m on day 4). Since I started it, my energy is GONE and is sucks because mentally I really want to dance. Once i’m done warming up it’s like my body won’t let me do anymore. Is this normal when detoxing???? Like I said, I’ve done this at least once a year, but I’ve never had an issue giving up EXERCISE for a week before! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif True sign of an addict! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Now at the same time there are some other things going on in my life that could also attribute to my sloth like practice sessions. My husband just got laid off from work last week which REALLY sucks. I think I’ve been handling it well but maybe subconciously it’s is messing me up.

…one other thing that I think is putting me in a funk is I just moved my pole from my bedroom out to my garage. I have much more space and don’t have to worry about kicking anything, the ceiling is higher…..but I don’t like it in there. I feel like I’m in a dungeon https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Okay so this ended up as more of a vent so thanks to those who read and have any advice!

I have no idea about detox sorry but how about you try to prettify your dungeon.. I mean garage? make it feel like your own space with bringing in some stuff that you’d normally see inside of your house so it doesn’t feel so much like you’ve been cast out.

Sorry to hear about your husband too xx

My pole is in my unheated garage as well since hubby won’t let me keep it inside of the house in plain sight(doesn’t want his daughter to see it and go back to his mom and say something).

I put down a nice area rug and lighting and am going to be hanging up some curtains to make if feel nicer. Just need to decorate the area a bit https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Oh Mrstrone. Sorry to hear about your husband’s situation. That must be stressful for you even if you don’t metally realize it. Play music you absolutely love and then try dancing around your pole but not necessarily pole dancing. Personally, I dance like no one’s watching (luckily no one is watching https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_jokercolor.gif ). Just doing incredibly silly dances gets me pumped up to get on that pole.

hmm… I can’t comment on the detox – I’ve never done it before! I’m too lazy for that, but good on you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

Feel free to vent on this site, I hope you get on the pole again soon https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif

Oh and I forgot to mention…..

I DANCE IN MY GARAGE!!!!! It’s the only place where I can relax knowing that I won’t break anything. See my profile pic? It’s one hell of an ugly garage. But personally I like that it’s a place I don’t normally go to. It’s my little escape from everything else in life.
If you don’t like your garage, Jeng and Bugged82 do have good advice https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

How you doing girl? Its tough having your man loose his job https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif It can make you feel helpless….I bet good things will come for you guys though. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif I understand not enjoying your pole space…I know I always have to clean up which ever room I’m gonna practice in otherwise I can’t concentrate and I just don’t wanna be there. Don’t go out and buy something new…but maybe if you looked around your house for some fun little extras you could put in the garage it might cheer it up a bit. Look for old curtains or ooohh christmas lights! A picture you love. Sometimes just reorganizing the space make me feel a lot better to! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Thanks for all of the tips everyone! Veena…what a great idea about the curtains…I have a bunch from before we redocorated our lr and dr….I could use those to mask the "ugliness" of the garage….I definitly need to girlify my space… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Ah I love that work ‘girlify’ Mrstrone! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Ive never done a detox before so I cant really comment on that, sorry https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif . The girls have given you some great tips for the garage. Do you have a mirror in there? If not you should get one if you can. Also the picture idea is good too. Or if you have some paint lying around you could do some designs on the wall. If you were artistic you could paint a pole sillouette… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif
Im really sorry to hear about your husband. My fiance is in college at the moment. He was an early school leaver and never went to college so when he lost his job he thought it would be his best opportunity to do what he wants to do – be a paramedic. Its tough have a one-income household but I try to be optimistic. Its hard but I gotta try… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Thats why I looove this site you can totally vent about ANYTHING and if there isn’t someone that’s gone through it already which there usually is, there’s always people willing to lend you their ear. As far as decorating I have found tons of dirt cheap lights and things at the dollar store and I love the scrap bin at the fabric store…I got a couple yards of hot pink pleather there for $2 once, so I used some of it to decorate my room…sadly the leftover went to my aunt so she could make a raincoat for her (boy) dog. Poor thing! We think he might be gay anyway though, he only smells boy dogs https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif Also you can go shopping in your closet and maybe look for some old clothes you could cut up and turn into sexy pole wear..you’d be amazed at what you can do with some scissors and safety pins if you don’t/can’t use a sewing machine!

My boyfriend got laid off from his job not too long ago too so I totally know how much it sucks…keep your chin up!

Thanks Glitter! I think I have over come part of my "funk". I realized that I haven’t danced in anything "sexy" recently…so last night I put on the side tie booty shorts and 7 in heels and ended up having a great practice session (2hrs)…..dungeon like garage and all! this weekend I am gonna decorate a little! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
