Do any of you guys have your belly button pierced? Does it bother you while poling or otherwise?

Reason I ask is I got mine done for my birthday back in April, before I realized I would soon be poling. For the most part, it doesn’t bother me, but it will occasionally get a little sore after a hardcore class or practice. Didn’t know if anyone else had experienced that or not?

I wear small gem type bars in my belly and have not really had an issue. I can imagine that if you have a larger setting it would get in the way. The top is 4 mm and the bottom is 6 (as opposed to the common 5/8).

I have mine pierced in 2 places (top and bottom) and the only time it really bothers me is when i would do a cradle spin. there have been times when one of the CBR beads would pop right off in class and go flying across the room LOL. I’ve had mine pieced for years tho so i’m sure its healed more than yours is.

I’m super careful doing cradle spins, inverted crucifixes, etc after the top ball of my curved barbell popped into one of the holes in my X-pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif Luckily I noticed before I tore it but I was sort of morbidly fascinated by how far it stretched with no ill-effects!!

I had my belly button peirced for years and I eventually removed it for safety reasons. It will scratch against the pole and it can get caught – plus mine was getting irritated by the grip aids I was using.

I think as a general rule belly button rings should be removed and replaced after pole. I require them to be removed in class for safety sake and for the sake of our poles. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Please be careful if you are poling with them they can get caught in the old x-poles.

I say if it’s not hurting you then it’s fine. I dance with mine but mine is old and it’s all healed.

I would think a new piecing would be sensitive and I’d be worried about bacteria getting on it so I would probably wear bandaid on it or something.

My belly button piercing has never gotten in the way from pole dancing but I find that I break my jewelry more from the pole.

I’m uncomfortable pole dancing topless though. I have nipple piercings and I don’t like them tugging on the pole so I have to be wearing a bra or tight tank top works for me. LOL yeah I sometimes dance naked at home. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I always wear a full length tank top when I pole, so there’s no contact at this point. When I get to the point where I need to start pulling my shirt up to do moves, I planned on putting a bandage over it to protect it from scratching the pole or getting caught.

My biggest issue seems to be cradle spins and anything that requires excessive arching of my back. Anytime I arch my back completely, I wake up sore the next day and the belly button is not happy. My hubby tells me I need to take it easy, since I was warned it could take up to a year for me to completely heal. (I heal really slow.) I just don’t like to take it slow. Lol.

i have had mine done for about 6 years & i haven’t ever had a problem with it while poling. i have a hardcore pole that is 1 solid pole, no holes or joints. if i had to use a pole with a joint/holes in it i would get a big square bandage & stick it over my belly ring just to be safe https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif oh & i did get mighty grip on my belly ring once & it wasn’t so fun… i also got mighty grip down my shorts some how, that same day && that was far worse than getting it on my belly ring so don’t do that either, lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif

I’ve had mine pierced for 7 years, long before I ever got on a pole, but I still used to hurt it on the pole once in a while when I was wearing a normal barbell. Now I wear a very small ring (literally a ring with a ball – a CBR) in it and I never have problems even in cradle, etc.

So after a month or so of constant soreness and an unhappy belly button, I took mine out for good. What I thought was me "over doing it" with the poling was actually the piercing being rejected. So I guess it will all work out.

ive had mine for 1.5 yrs so its healed and never hurts

when i wear a shirt i don’t take it out but when i only wear my sportbra i take it out so i don’t scratch the pole or get it caught on anything which i’m so scared about.

maybe urs just needs to heal a little more
