after a dissapointing pole session today lol i have decided my arms need more strength and I was just wondering if you girls had any tips?

i dont have access to weights and the only access to weights i do have are my bfs. i just want to build great strength in them to help with the split grip/jacknife/handspring/straightedge etc moves..

any tips and suggestions would be great https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Hi Louisax,
I do a lot of pushups and chats (yoga pushups) to build strength in the upper body. You could possibly try walking pushups, holding planks, or wall pushups Of course, weight training is great but using your own body weight is challenging too.

Are you looking for exercises to do with the pole? If so, you could always do pole-ups, arm-only climb (tough one)…

For non-pole exercises, I really like doing handstands (u could do these on the pole), handstand pushups, I think yoga pushups were already mentioned… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

Totally work on pole climbs!! They can build upper body strength fast. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

definitely pole climbs and push ups!! you know what i do sometimes, and this is silly but when i go grocery shopping, and am bringing everything in, i try to hold as much as i can in one arm and then ill do lifts with the groceries while im walking from my car to the house, it’s silly but every little thing counts i think. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif dont get too discouraged though!! you’re a beautiful dancer!!!
