  • Any Love for Ankle Boots?

I have an unnatural love for my Pleaser faux patent knee boots. However, I just tore the top of the foot area and am despondent. Luckily, I am not prone to being overly dramatic. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

My betraying boots are Pleaser Delight 2000.
    http://www.pleaserusa.com/ProductDetail.asp?PROD_CD=DEL2000%2FB%2FM&STYLE_CD=DELIGHT-2000" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
These are a side zip, non-lacing boot. The construction/design flaw is the seam on top of foot. The patent has ripped along the seam; rest of boot wears beautifully.
My Pleaser 2063 boots have a similar toe area. These, though, I have in the PU material and they show zero wear and tear.

So, I am considering a different foot area design for a replacement patent boot, specifically more of a skate base lace up construction. These seem much more rigid and stable in design. I found a pair of ankle boots I may try:

I like that Delight 1036 do not have raised rivets for lacing (they appear to have flat eyelets all the way up). I also like the patent buckle straps that cross over the lace. I think(hope) they may provide some traction against the pole, instead of just a frictionless fabric lace.

Have you danced in this style? Will it slap a bandaid on my boot sadness? Do you like ankle boots as much as knee boots? I surmise they will be a versatile entry between shoes and boots. Any and all insight is greatly appreciated! Thanks ya’ll (yes, I am bilingual. I speak pole and Southern).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE ankle boots. Knee boots are just too sweaty for me and they inhibit some moves.

If you look at the pictures for those boots, one shows eyelets and the other shows hooks. If they show the right boot it is eyelets, if they show the left it is hooks. I would be concerned about the buckles getting caught on stuff. I have even caught the hooks from one boot onto the laces of my other boot while poling….kind of an uncomfortable situation!

I have the same boots and they also tore, except not just on th seam. They ripped up along side of the foot (where the often pressure is on climbing). They looked DREADFUL after the rip and I was so upset because I had only worn them about 5 times! :O

However, I wernt out and bought some black electrical tape an patched it up. It looks really tacky up close, but it’s okay on stage.

I would not recommed PVC to anyone, because the it’s actually only a really thin film of PVC and very easy to tear on the pole even with gentle moves.

Yes, I rocked the black duct tape repair look, too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
So sad when poor design happens to adorable boots.

Where are you thinking of buying these boots from and how much will they cost you?

I was considering selling some like this on my website…

I am considering purchasing the Pleaser Delight 1036 calf boots from LingerieDiva.com. I normally shop shoebuy.com; however, in this instance, their price is $15 higher than competitor. Shoebuy has priced the "patent" as the same price as the leather at $114.45. With a 20% discount code and additional 10% coupon, I could buy these from Shoebuy.com for $82.08 (free shipping and free returns). Lingerie Diva priced the patent at $58.90 (plus $7.95 shipping= $66.85 total).

I would love to support a "Veenar" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif so keep us updated.

If you’re gonna use them for pole, DON’T BUY THE PATENT! See here https://www.studioveena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2839&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
