StudioVeena.com Forums Discussions A few suggestions

After being involved in this site for about a week I’d say the two things I’d most like to see would be a chart based on location (to show how many users are from what part of the world, and/or to post known studio pole locations, etc…) and to be able to scroll through the user videos more easily – like having pages of videos and being able to select which page to look at rather than one scroll bar that resets every time you select a video to watch.

Love the site, just offering my two cents https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I have to agree with you on the video viewing page format… However, the videos used to be listed the way that you’re describing, Dyvo, and Webmaster worked very hard at making the changes – so I really hate to say anything bad about it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_silent.gif

I wouldn’t mind the way that the video page is set up if the scrolling bar didn’t reset whenever you clicked on a video. Right now I’ve been opening videos in a new tab just for that reason, which majorly slows down the browser. Also, I kinda miss seeing the username of the person that submitted the video along with the video title. I do like having the description and comments be selected to view them, but I think I’d like it better if it were off to the side – right now when you click, you can’t watch the video and read the comments and description at the same time because it bumps the video screen down too far. I do also like the categories like "lessons" and "challenges" being selectable compared to the old setup.

Just my opinion… I feel bad now, though https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif – Webmaster does such a great job around here! I mean no offense, I swear! I’d completely respect it if you wanted to leave the videos the way they are now. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif

Yes, I like the new video platform very much https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif but there are few little quirks that (whenever Webmaster has the time and energy) I would love to see ironed out.

    For me, these are:

    1. Showing the username along with the title
    2. Being able to see more vids at once, thus being able to navigate more easily.
    – Perhaps an option to expand that bottom scroller to make it about 4 rows deep?
    – Or maybe a ‘Browse All in this category’ link that points to a page full of thumbnails, vid titles and username’s. Then when you click on a vid, it takes you back to this new platform as per usual?

Also, I don’t know if it’s just me but I find that after I watch a vid once, I can’t watch it again without refreshing the page. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

i can only reply to one comment at a time, i have to refresh the page inbetween! i’d love to be able to reply to everyone who took time to comment but sometimes it’s just too time intensive… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Sorry I am late to this post and new to the forums, and as a newbie I love the idea of this entire site and how it allows everyone to connect and share ideas.

One thing I looked for and would love to see and please let me know if this already exists since I am new and may still overlook some features: I would love to see a listing of all the users and their residences. I am from NY and even though I want to connect with everyone I do think it’s nice to see how many users are in your area. The only way I can see who’s who is if I click their name on a video and scroll through friends or forums. Not sure if this makes sense, just throwing thoughts out there.

There is a map available that shows our locations, but not everyone is on it. I don’t remember where/how to pull up the map (I’m at work, don’t have time now), but will find it later and tell where it is! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Here’s the link to the map: http://platial.com/mapv/PolePals/685360

Also, go to "Forum", then "Suggestions", the 2nd thread down is "Pole pals", and you may want to read through it, it’s all about people finding each other! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I also have a couple of suggestions:

    1) Maybe stamp the vids with the user names..it’s hard to try nd keep track of who you know when you never see them with their names. When ever I select a vid to watch the scroll goes back to the beginning, then I have to manually scroll back to the place I was at originally. It would help if the scroll would keep it’s place even after someone selects a vid to watch.

    3) Make it possible to comment more than once on a vid. I have noticed when I click on my vids to reply to comments, I can only respond to one because it returns me back to the vid, then I have to restart the window so I can gain access to the comments so I can reply to another comment…this take a lot off time when there are more than a couple of comments.

See just a few things, I think these things will help me out hen I navigate the site. Thanks so much! <3
