I vowed to start this as soon as my pole room was ready, it is ready, the pole was up on Sunday night and I started the 30 days today….Day 1 DONE. I have to say I LOVE it, I thought I would be bored, I was not, it is a great start to structure my pole sessions, I can do all the videos and then anything else I want afterwards. I'm going to endeavour to do it every day, realistically I'll probably end up doing it 3 times a week, but you never know, it might be the 'pill' I need to get me doing daily exercise…

Hey Everyone. Okay, this may seem like a stupid question but I cannot figure out where to go on this website to find the 30 Day Take Off. I think the idea of it is perfect for me. I have a pole at home I hardly touch bc I'm not good at it. I have had a pole studio membership for a year but actually only have about 4months of actual classes under my belt so I'm definitely a newbie. I missed most of the year bc we moved into a fixer upper and it consumed me. I couldn't live in that mess so every extra minute was used to get the house in order. I am now officially done except for little things and have started going back to my studio classes but really want to take advantage of this site which I love but usually just watch videos on….!!! Thanks in advance for help.

If you're a paid member of the site, you can access the 30 day take off from the Lessons page. It's just above the beginner lessons.

Hi Dancers!
so you have become a member to do the 30 day take off? I just started a pole fit class a couple of months ago-only once a week. I do gymnastics once a week. but my regular health and exercise routine is in the slumps.I'm going through a separation that is going to end in divorce,so I'm on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. not so darling hubby is playing the Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde routine and my kids are trying to cope. since Ive seen some posters admit it….I'll come out of the closet here…i started smoking again after quitting for years after the stress of fulltime school and the marital issues started to come up. I live in fear of my gymnastics coach or my holistic health friends finding out! one thing or another-often my feelings about myself-seem to be getting in the way of starting fresh and acting and being healthy again…any encouragement is welcome…anyone gone/going through similar struggles?
Thanks for letting me unload and be truthful!

closetgymnast – I feel you! I'm actually late to work but wanted to let you know that I have dealt with similair situatuons and it totally sucks. I actually just quit smoking last Monday and this week has been hell! But I already feel SO MUCH better. The more I exercise the better I feel, and the less I want to smoke. Sometimes exercise is just taking the dogs on a walk. You do have to be a member for the 30 day take off lessons, but I highly recommned it! It really helps to have the structure and support, especially when you are going through an emotionally challenging time. I'm so sorry you are having a hard time, this site is a great place to get your self esteem up though! I love to watch the member videos, seeing people of all different fitness levels and body types really helps make you feel like you're not alone. OK I have to run but will try and write more later. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Bask in the awesomeness that is you for finishing!
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif no, seriously, I know that I will be adding quite a bit of the conditioning moves into my regular workouts. And it gives me a starting point, or a plan if you will, for the days when I'm not sure what to work on or need some type of structure instead of just jumping into moves and spins.
I currently take in-studio classes so my 30 days is looking more like 60 based on the free time that I do have to work out, but I've still seen a benefit to it. In general, I don't like traditional workouts, so I feel like through adding the strength and conditioning portions (along with stretching and foam rolling), my pole dancing will get to the level that I want it to be at just that much quicker.

Verticali, has some great advice!
Gail, if you're ready to work on the lessons on your own remember to start with the "Getting started lessons" Place at the beginning of EACH lessons section. These lessons will tell you how often to workout and give you tips and advice on how to use the individual lessons.
Here is the first one to watch. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4dd006a7-c45c-4c1e-b6b6-4a870ac37250

so i have been here many times paid for lessons then bailed after the first month. I have set aside some money to pay monthly with Veena and I'm starting the 30 day Take off on sunday. I have read thru most of this thread and have to say i feel energized and am excited to start. I have been poling for 3 years and in July last year after moving away from where i lived for 7 years back to my hometown i lost my motivation to pole …. i see my pole standing in the corner of living room begging to be used and i just couldn't be bothered. I am on a mission to find myself again and renew my energy and confidence levels that I found with pole again. Hopefully when I get backto were I was then I can go back to sharing my love of pole with the ladies of my community.

I take lessons in a studio and they are very helpful and nice but I took about 8 months off for a big move and rehab on a house we bought and since then haven't been able to get back into a regular routine. I go once or twice and then don't go again for 3 or 4 weeks. I was so excited at first and bought a pole right away. It has it's own room and everything. When I go to class now I feel like I am way behind what everyone else is doing. I can barely climb and can't even begin to invert. I feel discouraged and somewhat embarrassed. Also, I think that I have hurt my shoulder at some point. It's nothing that bothers me on a regular basis but when I lift my arm a certain way it really hurts and it seems to flare up when I'm on the pole. I think I have been trying to do things that I'm not prepared for or strong enough for. I was wondering if any of you could suggest exercises that will help me get stronger to help me prevent injury. This is a hard sport and I want to get better at it. I really enjoy it a lot but am feeling discouraged. Thanks.

PoleFeline are you taking the online lessons here? If so, there are many lessons that focus on conditioning the shoulders and other muscles that would be helpful. These conditioning lessons are included in the 30 day take off. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Thanks. After I posted I read through all these posts and realized that is exactly what I need to be doing!!

Day 12 here.. Wow, I didn't take Veena's advice and do Rejuvenation days at first now, sometimes I do two rejuvenation days. I found a good rest period allows me to have an awesome pole day, I got my very first cross knee release ever after a 48 hour break.
There are days I just freestyle and enjoy myself and then there are days I work out with Veena doing her strength training, other days I do Aletha Austin's stretching for pole, I mix it up, I'm not worried about the 30 days, I'm in no hurry, I do not want to get permanently injured.
My Internet research made me realize we aren't training much different than body builders, I added glucosamine, Omegas, Multi-vitamin and an extra iron supplement to my daily morning ritual on top on Advil and I drink a protein shake after poling.
don't forget to feed those muscles 🙂
No matter how many rest days, my body is still telling me and letting me know I'm working out, there are days I'm stiff and the michigan weather doesn't help much.

Hoping to do day 6 tonight! I have been taking classes at a studio in MD since Jan but my favorite instructor injured herself and is out for 6+ weeks. I like the class environment because my instructor can tell me "you are doing x wrong, here is how to adjust" but at the same time I feel like I am gaining much more strength from the lessons here.

I started Veena's 30 day take off program this week … but i'm alternating between Veena's workout and Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. hoping that my body will quit fighting against me and i shed some inched before summer really gets here. so far i'm loving veena's lesson plan. so organized this is what i have been missing from the beginning of my pole journey. tomorrow is day 3 …can't wait.

The 30 day take off program is part of the lesson package. You’ll have access to it once you purchase the lessons. You’ll need a pole at home to get started.
-
I have one but i was wondering do i need to get a foam roller or anything else for the exercises.
-
You don't have to have the foam roller, I use it a few times in the program but it's not a big deal if you don't have one. You can just skip that part. I would suggest buying a resistance band or 2. I use those in the program and I suggest all pole dancers use them for conditioning. They are pretty inexpensive. Here are two examples http://www.amazon.com/Valeo-VA7657MU-Stretch-Bands/dp/B0007IS714/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1377707857&sr=8-4&keywords=resistance+bands
You can find them at sporting goods stores and places like WalMart and Target too.

Hi, I’m starting 30 day take-off. I would love to know if I should do only this one lesson through one day? I noticed those are shared for random muscles parts. Can I do e.g. 1-4 lessons one day and 5-6-7 the other, etc? I was a part of few trainings and I tried fireman, pole-sit and some other figures but I can’t do it well, so I want to make my muscles harder.

You only need to do the lessons listed below the main video player, called Related Lessons. Those are the lessons you do that day, they change each day, follow the suggested reps I talk about in the main video or the days descriptions.😊
