Learning proper technique and building strength is a must and doing so will help you with slipping.
However, even if you have great technique and you’re strength is on point, there are 2 main reasons for slipping if strength isn’t a factor.
- Sweaty skin
- Dry skin
- Oily skin
Choosing the right grip aids can help with all of these issues.
GRIP SPRAY: Here’s the recipe for a DIY grip aid spray for cold dry skin.
Here are links for more grip aids.
DRY HANDS: Great for sweaty hands and body, doesn’t do much if you have cold, dry skin.
MIGHTY GRIP: Great for sweaty hands and body, doesn’t do much if you have cold, dry skin.
TITE GRIP: Great for sweaty hands or body, many sweaty hand dancers swear by it!
iTAC2: Great for dry skin, but can make the pole slick after a while. NEVER USE THIS ON SWEATY SKIN
CRAMERS SPRAY: This stuff will make you stick like glue so I don’t recommend it for everyday use, it’s not easy to wash off!
