As someone who has gained and lost many lbs over the years (currently maintaining 100 lb loss for 6 years) I will say this: exercise is important, but you can out eat any workout. It is so much easier to eat 300 calories than to burn it off, so if weight loss is your goal, look at your diet first. Use pole to strengthen and tone. Use cardio to build endurance. Don’t expect workouts to take off the weight, people gain training for marathons all the time, I did!

I also struggle at home, I blame seeing the ceiling so close (and also the positive sort of peer pressure is missing!) My pole at home is in the basement so it’s only 7.5 feet.

I’ve never gotten it either. For me I think it’s fear more than strength…for some reasons moves like that are hard for me to just commit and do it, while other equally difficult moves are not such a problem.

When mine did that, it was because it was too tight against the ceiling. Backing it off a half a turn or so fixed it.

I love chrome, but it’s slippery a lot in winter for me unless I’m a bit sweaty and warm. As for grippiest I’d have to go with powder coated, judging by the times I play on the fireman pole at the playground.

I can barely function on a 50mm. Way too big for my hands.

I never knew it before pole, but apparently I gain muscle pretty easily! At first I was alarmed, but I’m starting to warm up to my lumpy, muscley self. I love being strong, and having defined abs at 40 after living a mainly sedentary and overweight life is kinda cool. (My pic is from a year ago, I’ve gotten more muscley since, but I kinda hope I’ve maxed out now…)

I have a gap and struggled a lot with CAR at first. All I can say is time and building strength took it from seemingly impossible to totally doable (for the longest time I thought I’d be stuck with just CKR as my only option). Also lots of i-tac and squeezing hard!

Or derbyskinz.com, they go up to a 3x (not that a 14 is anywhere near 3x!)

As a formerly thick girl, I sympathize. Check out You Go Girl Dancewear, they have a plus size section with a ton of booty shorts in larger sizes.

Well, lemons are acidic. To get the same effect, you’d have to use something else that is also acidic, which rubbing alcohol is not so much. Vinegar would probably give the same result as the lemons.

Not worried about my tummy, but feel self conscious with that much butt showing! 🙂

I like these, and they are CHEAP. I also like the Mika ones, and I have a pair of Bad Kitty Brazil ones but don’t have the balls to wear them to class, ha!

Short answer, yes. I also tried to forgive him, but not only was that harder to do than I thought, it happened again, and again, until I finally had enough. I can’t tell you what to do, and one of those times I had just found out I was expecting, but in hindsight I should have cut my losses sooner. I’m not saying no one can make a mistake and just make it once and be great after that, but in my case, as much as he assured me it would never happen again, he didn’t really mean it.

Looks good! That’s about what my hand looks like on a 45mm ha. 🙂 Have fun!!
