@Spinny – This is not the first time we have had to warn you about your behavior in our forum.  I believe last time I had to delete your account.  Claims of copyright infringement are considered libel in most areas of the world unless they are backed by the express ruling of a court of law.

This thread started as a user telling us about something she thought would be useful or interesting to the community. Have we ever deleted forum posts like that? No.

TO ALL: I respectfully request that any further posts to this thread be constrained to the jewelry itself.

@Lizzy – I understand but your direct comparison between your performance and Timber Brown's was misleading and should anyone take it to heart could endanger someone who wanted to try and do moves like Timber on an SSA.  Physically there is no way that the SSA could stand up to Timber's performance, its mathematically impossible and I don't believe a 9 foot option is even offered for the SSA.

That is of course not to say that the X-Stage is any better than the SSA any more than one could say a Chevy Suburban is a better vehicle than Chevy Volt.  They are two different products with different purposes or potential values.

It is a fact that the X-Stage in both light and standard models will withstand a more aggressive, heavier and dynamic dancer than the SSA will.  This has VERY little to do with the overall weight of the pole and much more to do with the how it handles leverage.  The weight of modern stage poles is largely a function of the mechanical infrastructure required to offset the forces created by the dancer.

Once again, does this mean X-Stage is better than SSA?  The answer is not so simple, it all depends on who you are and what your purpose and preferences are.  The Chevy Suburban will pull a tree out of the ground but the Chevy Volt will get you back and forth to work far less expensively and will guarantee you a parking spot, which is better?  The answer: It depends.

This is a leverage and center of gravity question. Its a physics question.

Assuming you weigh 120 lbs and your hand never gripped higher than 5 ft and the stage's radius is 3 ft you never exerted more than 240 lbs of force within the physical system and generally less since your more violent attacks were below the three foot mark which essentially nullifies the potential mechanical advantage provided by the leverage of the pole. And since the angle of the force you create stays well within the circumference of the base you were never in any danger of tipping the pole.

Assuming Timber Brown weighs about 150 lbs and he was at the top of a 9 foot pole he was exerting a minimum of 900 lbs of force which is a significant difference, and then take into account the fact that the direction of the force he creates travels well outside the circumference of the stage and I think you can see that the comparison is not quite adequate.

While we appreciate your attempt to demonstrate the safety of a specific pole it is important to note that any stage pole can tip or rock. Each pole has physical use tolerances that can be figured out mathematically. Know your equipment and what it is capable of and you will enjoy your pole dance experience more.

Blackberry is not the best phone for mobile access.  Their video support is spotty at best and can require a significant technology change for any website.

You do not need to be anybodies friend to see their videos, you just have to be a member of the website.

Paypal has different criteria on whether to require a credit card, and these criteria are based on all kinds of things from location to age of the account.  What most people who've had this problem do is get a money card from Walmart.  Money cards with the Visa or Mastercard logo work just like a credit card but are limited to the amount you put on.  I hope this helps.

Any photo supply store has rolls of paper that are designed to be used as backdrops.  They provide a nice smoothe uniform background, are 9.5 feet wide, and are inexpensive.  It comes in many colors with black, white and grey being the favorites.  You can hang them from a garage cieling using a ropre a couople of bike hooks or pretty much anything you can jury rig to support them.  The great thing about the paper is that if it becomes wrinkled, dirty or torn you just unroll some more and tear off the old stuff.

Brasso is a combination of an abrasive and a solvent.  It should be used with care on any dance pole.  The solvent will not come completely off and depending on the composition of the brass may cause the pole to be stickier or more slippery.  Abrasives should also be used sparingly and with care on any surface regardless of composition.

@teresawitch – I have checked your processes.  You are trying to upload an actual DVD file which is slightly more complex than a standard video file and can't just be uploaded to a video service.

In order to upload this file you will need to use a program such as Handbrake http://handbrake.fr/ to change it to something such as an AVI or MP4 file.

There is an old saying "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar"

These potential instructors were inquiring what was involved in teaching pole.  That is admirable, they saw a need, and they had a desire.  They wanted to spread the word of pole.

The best approach in a scenario like this, in my opinion, is to provide information.  They were asking because they didn't know, but were interested or at least curious.  If we seek to educate then people can make informed decisions, if instead we keep our art locked away in a little magical box and simply assert that no one can touch it without the magical key we turn people off and rather than becoming more popular, pole will become less so.

Remember too that there are many levels of pole, many of the classes in a gym are little more than walking around the pole.  We need to encourage people to take up our flag and we do that through education.

Yes, as with most sites, the design constraints of the smaller screen provide for somewhat limited functionality in the mobile version.  You can approve these requests on your desktop or an iPad.

Descalzada – Just for clarity we gave $10 per new subscription which totalled $1160 dollars, and it was given directly to the Rochester Breast Cancer Coalition.

Chemgoddes – I do believe you are right.
