@shebangs – The lessons that are on this site represent thousands of hours of work in development, production, and refinement. Veena tends to add lessons seasonally as we have time to record and produce them and our current library has more content than any DVD set you could buy.
We will not ever commit to a timeline for delivery of lessons as we stand on the value of our product as it is and don't try to sell it based on future plans that may or may not be realized.
I do take extreme offense to your assertion that Veena should spend more time making lessons and less time expressing her creativity. Veena is a whole person, and the great majority of her time is spent nurturing people in one way or another. Four children and over thirty-thousand website members would be emotionally draining for anyone yet Veena handles it with great aplomb. She, like anyone, needs a creative outlet to maintain her motivation in all other areas of life.
I'm also unsure why a non-paying member would be so disgruntled over our lack of response on this topic and why said non-paying member would be seemingly upset that Veena takes some time to express herself. I'm also unsure why you would take the time to quite blatantly attack members of our site who have never shown anything but love and support for the community as a whole.

A very common, mistake in uploading windows movie maker files is to upload what is called the project file. The project file doesn't contain any actual video but instead contains all. In order to get an uploadable file you have to export in either AVI or WMV and upload that file.

@PaulettePoles – You, most likely, have some sort of infection or malware in your machine that is causing this problem. I can most certainly assure you that there is no danger in using our site.
No virus software is perfect, in fact there are many ways for malware to bypass your protection.

Our system automatically crops all images to a square. By cropping your photo so the face is a little closer to center before uploading will help keep more of your face in the photo.

Your biggest consideration in a small room will be to have as wide an angle as possible. Most modern point and shoot cameras will offer a fairly wide angle while also being economical. If you decide to go the camcorder route look for small threads inside the bezel surrounding the lens, this will indicate that you should be able to order a wide-angle adapter for the camera.

AdministratorJanuary 9, 2012 at 3:29 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side Demo@HollySatine – It's hard to describe, concisely sometimes mechanical movement. The wobble that is referred to is the unassisted movement of the pole. You'll notice that when Veena moves the pole the XSL comes back to true almost immediately while the SSA keeps moving back and forth for a bit. This movement is probably more noticeable if you watch it full screen on Youtube or our site rather than watching the little video embedded in the forum.
As to the noise, yes that is true of the XSL, Veena chose not to where heels in the video on either pole as she expressly stated, because of the "sponginess" of the SSA panels and the noise it causes on the XSL. However in a performance environment the noise is usually covered up by the music.

"KEITH FROM PLATINUM STAGES actually requested the review and sent us the pole. This is the only problem I have with anyone's comments, is the assertion that we were paid or somehow incentivized by X-Pole.
Keith from Platinum Stages asked for a demo of his pole which is something we really don't do but he was insistent and one of his suggestions was a side by side review which we felt was the only fair way to take on a product demonstration, which is something that we have never done in any significant way.
We receive no incentives from X-Pole or Platinum stages, and the revenue from our pole sales wouldn't buy you lunch in a month. You'll notice that there are positives for the SSA listed in there:
1) The Platinum Stages is 55 lbs lighter
2) Setup time is less than half that of the X-Stage lite
Keith assured me in our conversations, time after time, that he wanted to know not just what was good with his pole but what was bad. He constantly talked about how they made improvements after Alethea pointed out issues with their pole.
I fully expect that Keith from Platinum Stages will hold up his end of the bargain and stand up for the demonstration as he promised he would."

I think oliviaaa may be joking but, I want to be very clear. No one paid us to do that. KEITH FROM PLATINUM STAGES actually requested the review and sent us the pole. This is the only problem I have with anyone's comments, is the assertion that we were paid or somehow incentivized by X-Pole.

@oliviaaa – Hey, if you want to take the time to share, I'd love an email from you explaining how we could do better next time.

So I wanted to thank everyone again for all the support. Seeing this outpouring of thanks really helps us keep in mind what is really important. It's you guys, we do this to provide a central place for polers of all beliefs… and poles 🙂 We are concerned about your success and your safety more than any amount of advertising dollars or product sponsorships.
I sincerely hope that the conversation and the community will continue for many, many years to come and that someday we get a chance to meet every single one of you beautiful people face to face.

AdministratorJanuary 6, 2012 at 12:58 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side Demo@jagedup – Great response. I would actually move one of your cons to the pros category.
It's not a problem that you have to buy counterweights for the XSL in order to use multiple people or further steady the pole. This is an option that you don't have with the SSA.
In my mind it's a pro that you can weight the base, and that you can use multiple people on a single pole since these are options you don't have with the competition.
Thoughts?
