Well if you leave the pieces together, putting up the pole takes under 5mins for me. I mark and X on my ceiling so I know where the joist is, then I don’t have to try to find it every time. If you take the pole totally apart I would say its about 10mins to put if once you know what your doing.
I have both a 45 amd 50 X. The standard size (right now) for competitions and studios is the 50. So if you want to dance outside of your home 50 is the best bet, because once you can dance on the larger 50 its really easy to transition over to a smaller 45. If your getting the pole just for fun then the 45 is a bit easier, just remember move to a larger pole will be a challenge! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I just wanted to jump in and add, that you guys are totally right to be working on the shoulder dismount/reverse SM for this one. Anytime your trying to advance and gain strength without the risk of injury by using brute force, working on the negative (lowering down) portion of a move is the way to go! In weight training doing the negative portion of a lift is used often. It can really help you move up to the next level!! I have 2 "new" (not seen in the lessons on here) done and ready to upload that are Pole moves… but I am adding other info to the line up as well. I am re doing the old ones all first and then I will be adding new ones after I finish the all old. I will be sending out a newsletter with up dates. Yes you do screw into the ceiling for the lil mynx. -
Awww you have to take it down everyday!! Bummer. I agree with Fleur, A lil mynx is your best bet if you want a tall pole to go up and down fast. Just remember that you wont be able to move the pole to another location because it will be cut to fix your ceiling. If you really want an X pole (which is my fav because you can adjust the height and I love the quality)you could always just leave the pole pieces together and then all you have to do is screw the dome back against the ceiling. I have a nice super light weight latter I use for my 9ft and 12ft poles. I’m with veruca, what’s a bumslide? LOL
Bum slide is when your in a reverse handstand..so your facing the pole and you keep your legs in a V and slide your bum down the pole, lowering your feet on the ground. Both of these moves are on my list for the new lesson moves. -
