If things that were easy for you like your invert, as you said… start becoming difficult as in physically hard, then you should listen to your body and take some time off. You don’t have to stop all together. I’m not sure how often your dancing but even athlete take breaks and come back refreshed. Rest can sometimes be the best thing. Watch videos over and over of others doing the moves your working on and take time to visualize yourself doing these. Visualizing can be very beneficial. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I’ve heard you can use windex. I use it on my chrome xpole and haven’t had any issues it is also a bit sticky after wiping it down so it helps me grip it better. However I didn’t know about wiping down the joints so ill do that tonight.
They use to say windex was fine but now they tell you not to use it. Some say it causes a build up, I still use it though, and its what they were using when I met X pole at a fitness convention, so I don’t know. When in doubt use Good ol Alcohol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Have you tried putting lotion on a few hours before you dance? Winter is just horrible for slick poles and dry skin. Your also right about heating sources and such changing the your pole room climate. Hmmm as far as sudden painful leg grips…you can get more sensitive if your getting sick, or maybe your nervous about performing and just now realizing the pain? It could just be the other things mentioned above, maybe you have PMS. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Don’t forget to let your bottom hand slide down as you lift your leg up, this will make the move easier than trying to keep that lower hand in place. Let it slliiiide https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Runemist…if you have a sewing machine and had an extra pair of the shorts you like, you could carefully cut them apart and use them as a pattern to make your own. I did that with the hanes undies I love, and it worked, the only problem was I didn’t have fabric that was stretchy so the shorts were not wearable too stiff. The hard part was decided on how to cut the undies apart! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Thanks guys! Yes, Gimme More, Apologize and Santa baby were all done with in the same week…Santa baby might have been a bit later but, I remember being sooooo nervous to post anything on youtube! I still have my very first video I did, I think it was 3 weeks into dancing and I wanted to see if I was "good enough" to post to YT and ended up never posting it. I have joked about putting it up here some time, but its so dark. I made it in the dark because I didn’t want anyone to know who I was. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif Odvously I changed my mind about the whole ambiguous thing…..Now I’m plastered all over the internet! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

AdministratorDecember 15, 2009 at 4:08 pm in reply to: I LOVE MY TITANIUM GOLD 45MM X POLE!!!Rubber….the difference in static spins on my 45s would be that the TG has more grip and so I get calluses much faster on my TG. I really wouldn’t recommend new dancers to use the TG because, new dancers tend to have a death grip on the pole in the first place, and it is so grippy that it can rip the skin when working on static spins. TG would be great for spinny mode or a more seasoned dancer. TG is good for performing but practicing spins would be painful. So this is from my experience with the 2 finishes so far, and another thing to note is I have dry cold hands, someone with warm sweaty hands may have a different perspective. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_santa.gif
