yes I have danced in a corset its not easy….it really limits your ability to invert and bend and even more important breath!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif I have however started off wearing one then took it off when I was ready to get down to the more difficult moves, it also gives you a chance to catch your breath while you take it off. If you go with the corset find one that only has a few hooks so it doesn’t take too long to undo it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Depending on how they are made the higher shoes can be easier to dance in. It really depends on the brand though. If they have a nice wide base for the ball of the foot your good to go, but some of them get narrow or have a funny curve to the bottom where the ball of the foot goes and they feel really unstable no matter what height they are. Lots of times the higher the shoe the smaller the angle is of the foot making it feel more stable. The reality is though, the higher the shoe the farther your fall and more likely you’ll twist your ankle, so take it slow. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif

Hand placement is important, placing them too high will make this spin much harder.

I had damaged my unlnar nerve my 3rd month into poling….not pole related ( i was sewing and banged my "funny bone" into the back of a chair" My fingers were numb for over 5 days) so I went to the dr. They told me it was nerve damage. They did some test to see how quick the nerves were reacting. I had to stay off the pole and away from over stressing it for a month. Killed me!!! It still flares up some times if I bump it or something during floorwork or on a chair again. I was told by the dr if my fingers didn’t regain feeling soon I may need surgery, but it ended up fine. Not much can be done for nerves….rest!!!! I also wore a stiff elbow brace so I wouldn’t inadvertently bang it or bend it. I just took it really slow when I started to feel better and it was fine. It only affected my fingers….and using my triceps heavily was out until the nerve had settled down. The inflammation had to go down so the never could slide through the "tunnel" without irritation. So don’t lean on the elbow or sleep with it bent avoid things that are repetitive and stressing until its better. Light stretching is good…or so I was told. Don’t stress… it killed me to stop dancing for 5 weeks but its worth it if it meant I can pole now.
One last thing, A yr after my injury I saw a great massage therapist that was super helpful with releasing the fascia more around the nerve maybe something you might want to look into, just make sure they know what their doing. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Hmmm thats odd..I’ll have to ask webmaster why you would end up back at your profile. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif You should just be able to click on a video lesson and there will be a pop up that tells you that you must purchase them to view and you can go from there.
