Put up that pole and have fun!I am a happily married mother of 4 boys. I have 3 poles up in my home…a pole outside in my back yard, one in my bed room and another set up in what was our living turned studio!!! I am the owner of the worlds largest online pole dancing website…..I have been an ACE certified personal trainer for about 9 yrs and POLE DANCE is the BEST workout I have ever done!! Pole combines Strength, cardio and flexibility and if you choose, you can get your sexy on but its not a must! I respect all forms of pole dance…ART, ATHLETIC and EXOTIC.
My kids play on my poles all the time, we have even done a dance together! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vCkyjxm1Hk My kids watch me practice some times, to them its a piece of exercise equipment…I just keep the sexy stuff for me time. Its your home…hiding the pole will only make it seem more devious than it really is!! We use CHAIRS for sexy lap dances and sexual chair routines but we don’t hide all of our chairs in the house because SOME people do naughty things with them. LOL Its all about your perception. I chose not to hide what I do, there is no reason to. Pole dancing moms ROCK!
Its a pole and its not a big deal.

Not really its more a matter of the hands getting use to the new load your asking them to take on…it will get better. Also be sure your only poling every other day not every day. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

It is normal and will get better as you become stronger and lose the "death grip" hold. Here are some tips that may help.
Warm up the hands…sometime we only think of warming our bodies but we rely heavily on our hands!
Stretch the hands/forearms after your pole session… if your taking the online lessons here is the vid
http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/3222Work on strengthening the hands off the pole. Here is a lesson for that as well
http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4462Here is one that feels amazing its a massage for the hands!!

Settling for the easiest option isn’t always best. I see "road blocks" as a sign that I should keep pursuing what I had planned…the reward is usually even better than I had expected. Don’t wait for your man if he can’t help…where there is a will there’s a way, you can make it happen!!!! Go for it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

AdministratorJuly 20, 2010 at 1:33 pm in reply to: Floor Body Roll And Shoulder Mount QuestionFor the floor body roll, remember your really moving the spine ….try to only envision moving up the spine one vertebra at a time not the shoulders themselves. Its not going to be a huge movement at first but you should feel it move all the way up the spine to the neck. At the top of the movement your chest will be slightly off the floor, because your rounding the top portion of your upper spine. You can try it against the wall standing as well. It may help to remember to inhale during the beginning of the move and then exhale as you roll though the movement. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

If your taking the lessons here are the new vids for these moves
CAR http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/2426
CKR http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/2415
Its totally understandable to have a fear of lowering yourself back so don’t feel bad about that.
here are some tips for these moves
Work on your planks first, some find this helpful others find planks easier after learning CAR/CKR
find your Points of Contact from the floor first
be sure your pole and your body is very warm so you have maximum grip, this can make a HUGE difference (sounds like you are tho, if your skin feels like its ripping) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif It will get better and thats normal!!!
try going into the move from a pole sit
Tip the legs up towards the ceiling FIRST then lower the upper body down
Go back slowly….walk your hands down the pole
You can do it good luck!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
