Oh that target one is cute!

Yeah, Catseyes, play around with hand placement and also check your torso placement, I have found the more I can reach my back around the pole the more extension I get. So opening up from the hips is important. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I vote for the 45mm. You'll still have the studio 50s to work with anyway. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

You were probably over gripping. Also, if your body isn't prepared for it (lacking proper strength) or if your gripping wrong static spins are very hard on joints, like wrist, elbows and shoulders. Spin mode is simply doing holds/poses, while the pole moves you. Static spins are different. Check with a dr to make sure everything is ok. Then start working on some conditioning exercises for the wrist/elbows/shoulders. Be sure to stretch this areas after every pole session as well. Feel better soon!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

SS is worse for some, not everyone. I know there are girls who love, their SS. But from what you've said I do think our skin type is similar and our climate. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Polefairy21, I would go with longer, then you can roll 2 legs at once if you want, ect…..and medium firmness is good. The soft rollers break down fast and the really firm ones can be too much to handle when starting. Also, if your planning on getting the lessons, you don't have to wait until your pole is up, there are tons of things to work on that do not require a pole at all. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

If you don't sweat a lot and you work well with the Chrome, I think you would really love the Titanium gold. Remember, when poles are new it can take time for all the junk from manufacturing to come off. I have been steaming my poles now with hot steam to clean them and it works wonderful. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gifI don't sweat much and have used stainless in my home and other studios, I just can't grip SS unless I'm super hot and sweaty. That doesn't happen much in the Midwest! lol I have normal to dry skin.

Great thanks everyone

Do you have a link to what you use babb13? I know sweaty hands can be one of the hardest grip problems to deal with!

Just getting around to reading this thread, I love it!

Be sure to start by watching each Getting Started lesson for every section, these will give you tips for structuring your pole sessions. Lessons are all placed in order, allowing you to build the necessary strength! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
For the shoulders, think more about keeping a neutral scapula (like shown in the forward & back scapula lesson) Pulling/pinching the scapula together is also not suggested.
Once you understand upper body placement for spins, you can work on the legs.
