I drank Carnation instant breakfast during all my pregnancies and even a few hours before delivery, my 3rd baby. Also used it the days after delivering my 3rd and 4th baby. Good stuff!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Totally normal! You're creating friction so that area you hold gets warm. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I think the goal of a workshop should be to learn from a different instructor, we all have different methods of teaching so it's great to see things from a different point of view. I don't think dancers should knock themselves out trying to be "good" enough to take a workshop. Make sure you read the workshop description so you know if your in the right level. I would think whom ever is teaching the workshop should be able to come up with other possibilities if the first option presented isn't possible for someone. Please keep in mind too that not every trick is not right for everyone. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Hi Hagface! Having trouble with spins is very common for beginners so you're not alone!
There a number of conditioning lessons here that will help with grip and also the whole body, no pole needed. Most of the Pole Strength lessons can also be done with a door frame instead of a pole.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

There is no way to speed up the recovery process but you can try a few things to help you feel better. Try going for a walk, sitting still can make you feel more stiff. Hot bath, foam rolling can feel good too, again though, it wont "fix" or repair the muscles any faster but it feels good! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

AdministratorAugust 24, 2012 at 10:57 am in reply to: Fear of Letting Body Fall Into SpinningYoungs. Pole dance is just as much mentally challenging as physically. You're not alone there!! I think that is why we find it so powerful, you feel stronger phyically and mentally too! If your taking the lessons here. Please feel free to stay with the first standing entry variation of pole spins. There is no need to rush walking into spins right away. This will help you understand the spin better without all the added momentum. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I was saying 45 is a good fit as opposed to the smaller 40. The larger pole dance comps are moving away from the 50mm and as a new dancer she may feel the 40 is too tiny https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Being that you're taller and new to pole dancing, I would say go with the 45 mm for diameter. As for finish….climate and how much you tend to sweat will be large factors for determining that.
If you live in a climate that is warm/hot or plan on poling in a warm room and tend to sweat a lot during exercise go with the Brass finish.
If you live in a climate that is cooler/cold or plan on poling in a cool space and are slightly sweaty during workouts, try the Chrome finish.
Get the xpert so you can do static and spin mode.

Do you like static and spinny or just one? Are you a new dancer or been at it a while? Have you tried the xpole Brass or Titanium gold? How tall are you? Do you tend to sweat a lot when you dance? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
