AdministratorFebruary 21, 2011 at 4:27 pm in reply to: Fan legs…is this a flexibility problem?Yes it can be a flexibility issue also you need adequate strength. So keep it low like Puma Suggested as you work on your hamstring flexibility and strengthen the Abominals, Iliopsoas (hip flexor) and quads (front of thigh). Part of the reason its a beginner move to me is that it can be a good strength builder.
For those of you taking the lessons here are some that focus on these muscle groups.

I think rubbing alcohol smells worse than vinegar. Rubbing alcohol just makes me think of sick people. LOL

AdministratorFebruary 21, 2011 at 9:27 am in reply to: Flat, flatter, flattest Jade possible, tips?I can not do a nice perfect looking squared split or even a crazy over split. BUT I CAN do a jade without the use of my arm and keep it flat. If you have access to the lessons Charley I cover a few tips that will allow you to flatten out. For my technique its mostly about the prep into the move and then a good placement of the torso.

I don't know it smells but it also reminds me of cleaning. You may leave your practice smelling like a pickle lol. But good grip is worth it!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

You can "inform" someone without behaving rudely!!! We have talked about the nature of this completion in a few threads on here and have discussed that it is held in a strip club ect. As I said on your blog….its up to the person entering a competition to do their research as to who runs it and what kind of competition it in.
All I see from your post is unnecessary rudeness.

ErinMarie…It seems that everyone who is on this thread understands that the comp is in a Strip club setting. Also looking at the competition site, it seems pretty clear that the girls who would benefit from competing are exotic dancers. I personally have no problem with exotic professionals using the terms pole dance. Jamilla, Felix and Fawnia all have won NUDE compitions in the past!

Hmm you know ,I use vinegar to clean my floors…I should look into this. Thanks for the post!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

NIce job!…remember your not trying to point the legs up in the Aysha..at least not in the straight edge V. Like sitting in a straddle stretch. . Keeping the V position will also help you shift your weight back. You can work more on the straight edge, with legs extended once your grip is very secure

Lol yep I remember trying to invert. I made sure I recorded it so I could see my progress. If you have had preveous strength and conditioning before you became pregnant it usually comes back fairly quickly. If not take your time and be very aware of your posture during ab work. If your taking the lessons there is a move called the “switch” it’s great for post baby!! If you had any amount of abdominal separation do NOT do full sit ups and stay away from inverts until you have built up strength. It will come back quickly. I’m responding from my phone so I hope it all made sense lol

Yes you need to start with the basics in order to progress safely and easily. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif You can view the lessons on a Playstation 3 and of course most mobile devices iPhones ipads ect.

When you had the lessons before….Did you what the "getting started lesson"? It will explain how you use the lessons. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif This is why its the very first lesson in the beginner section. In the video I explain that you don't need to worry about deciding on what order in which to do the lessons…I have placed them in the order in which you should work on them. Also be sure to read the descriptions that go a long with the lesson, these will sometimes tell you what you should have mastered before moving and it will also tell you what muscles you'll be using.
I don't know if you had the old version of the lessons but I have updated almost all of the lessons. You can view the lessons in full screen. Also they are meant to be watched first, then you re play it and listen to my instruction as you try the move. If you have a smart phone you can also view the lessons there as well.
