I can't speak for silks, but as for pole dance….Our website is the only site that offers lessons that progressively build on one another. The focus is also on build up the necessary strength first, this is beyond important! Sadly, many studios do not even offer this progression to their students!! Our lessons are NOT randomly placed, leaving the viewer wondering what to look at next. Even in studio it's up to the student to listen to instruction and actually follow. Studioveena online lessons rock. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

D, Luxx, all the moves you listed are great moves to know. There are people that pole for over a year without being ready to invert. Your not alone there! Are you taking the lessons here, and for how long? It's hard when you feel like your alone but I'd be happy to help you out if you like. Send me an email and we can take a closer look at what maybe hindering your progress. Hopefully you can also find a good quality studio soon too! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Don't feel discouraged, Glitterqueen! As others have mentioned, don't rush! Even if there are others in your class that can invert on their first try, doesn't mean they should be.
As mentioned in Keex's blog, you need to build a foundation. This is what we work on in my lessons here as well. One thing builds on another.
In order to see faster progress, working on your pole work, and conditioning outside of your class time would be very helpful. Taking a class once a week isn't really enough for most of us to see an improvement, unless we are strength training or conditioning 3 times a week too.
Also, not every pole move is right for every body, (yes I meant body) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif we all have strengths and weaknesses. A pole dancer doesn't have to invert, but it is something you can strive for if you like. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Pinkkupcukez, if you're having a lot of joint pain you may want to make sure you take your rest days. As Saphyre mentioned. Rest is equally important, you NEED rest for the body to repair it's self. If I doesn't have time to recover it will "break down" and force you to rest.
Don't worry about trying to catch up to anyone, there will always be someone ahead or better, out there. As long as you're seeing progress with your own journy that's all that matters. It's hard not to do though https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif
If you do conditioning exercises for your body you may not even need all of the braces once your body has become balanced and strong. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

We send out the tracking info as soon as we receive it from xpole. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

As katana suggested, I would just talk with the instructors there, they may have some insight for you. If you have been away form pole for a while starting at the beginning is a good idea, to build up strength. If you have a home pole there are always the lessons here as well. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I'm in the Summerlin area. Shine is not on the strip either, but it's closer. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Hi ADR1ENNE,https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
You may find some more photos if you do a google search. We also have a pole move gallery with links to the lesson for each particular move.
I have a few free lessons on Youtube, but with YT nothing is in order so it's hard to know what to work on, if your looking for something with structure, stay with the lessons here.
We have amazingly helpful members and as you've seen with the trial the lessons are all placed in order for you and I'm available to answer lesson questions you may have. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Yes, almost every static spin lessons also has a spin mode lesson included as well. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
Here is a free "getting started" spin mode video that may help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtinAzp17s0&list=UUup79MtZnWP_SCAHeVlmzdQ&index=0&feature=plcp

Yay, enjoy the lessons, if you have questions feel free to ask. Remember to watch all of the Getting Started lesson for each section, before beginning, these will help you plan your workouts. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

15,16,17 of August? You're more than welcome to come use my studio space, I have 2 xpoles 10 feet tall if you're interested. Also Shine does have open pole, they only charge 15 dollars I think for open pole practice. They have 50mm and 45mm spinning only poles. You'd need to give them a call for times 1 (702) 420-2358.
There is also Fawnia's studio, but it tends to be a bit more difficult to get into for open pole. If your looking for height this studio might not be the best, but Fawnia is super nice so you may want to take a class or just stop in to meet her. Not sure if this is the right number but you can try it. 702-878-POLE (7653)

Anyone can learn to pole dance!!! I didn't start until a few week before I turned 30. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif There are so many amazing dancers on this site that are over 40 and LOT'S of moms!
The girls have great suggestions! The lessons here are in order so you don't have to worry about trying to figure out what to do next. You don't even need a pole to get started, many of the lessons for conditioning and flexibility do not require a pole. There is a Pole Strength Routine in the Beginner section that is a great workout. If you have questions on a lessson you can leave me a message on the video and I'll get back to you with help https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I myself will wrap my wrists from time to time during practice. Just with a normal ace bandge. I use it when I'm working a lot of split grips. You'll see it in some of my old pole practice videos, I even have a photo where I have one on! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2345099631625&set=a.1586974038959.74737.1374030246&type=3&theater I would bet that many pros DO wrap their wrist, but you don't see it because pole is an art and sport of beauty, so they probably don't perform with wraps. I think if I needed to wear them I would make sparkly wraps so I could perform with them! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
The Kinesio, tape is different then the Strength Wraps…which look amazing by the way!
However I do not think we all should run out and start using wraps all the time for pole. If you only use aids such as wraps, then you are robbing yourself of the benefits of pole, which is gaining strength!!!! If you always work with wraps, or other aids you will not be strengthening these muscle groups.
To prevent injury…. condition, strengthen, stretch and work within your ability. Aids are great but use them wisely!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

AdministratorAugust 11, 2012 at 11:28 am in reply to: Is it a must to attend a pole studio to learn poling?Echo, Your "level" will very depending on where you study…..some studios use levels 1 2 3 and so on, others use Beginner "level one" Beginner "level two" and so on.
I keep it simple and use beginner, intermate and advanced. Because everything on the site here is listed in order, all lessons here progressively build on one another, you don't really have to worry about level.

Yeah my brass here is grippy but in a smooth way, not rip your skin off way lol
-
The xpole brass is amazing to work with if you live in the right climate. I could not use my Brass xpole when I lived in the Midwest during the fall, spring or winter my pole space was too cold (skin didn't warm up enough to sweat). Here is Vegas my pole space is warmer and I myself, sweat more (I don't have cold skin and because I do sweat my skin isn't dry) so I really love my x pole brass!!
The Titanium xpole has been the most versatile finish, I can use this pole in ANY climate and it grips so very well! Its the pole I record the lessons on because it doesn't require "warm up" time for me to grip. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
TG has more grip and less slip than Chrome.

I like target bikini tops and bottoms also.

I'm just saw the post about her having a studio….I wasn't saying I think they are fake…I just want you to make sure that IF you want a 40mm pole she has one…..because the picture that I saw was of the older style xpole, with threading (this is not a 40 they only have joints) You could have her send you a pic of the 40 and if it has joints then go from there. If it has threading don't buy it.
-
The pic she shows is not a 40mm because it has threading and not joints to put the pole pieces together. All of the NEW xperts regardless of size have joints. Also the XPERTs are bottom loading not top. 🙂
-
If you want comfy full coverage pole shorts try poleskivvies. No center seam…..I love mine! http://poleskivvies.com/pole-dance-shorts/
-
oh I wanted to see that!!! Is it on network TV? or somewhere else?
-
The seller is saying 40 OR 45mm down at the bottom. So yeah, I think they just don't know a lot about the poles, or… they know that the 40s are new and popular right now so they're trying to get buyers buy using the term 40mm
