I honestly don’t know much about it, however in taking a few minutes to google what it’s about, I think it falls under the Pseudoscience category in my book. If you do go please be careful and speak up if something doesn’t feel right!!

Often times its a matter pelvic positioning. Often when doing moves that require core strength like fan legs we are not mindful of how we hold the pelvis and either tuck or arch too much. Everyone’s hips are made up slightly differently so while neutral is always what you’re looking for, it may be necessary for a slight posterior or anterior pelvic tilt to allow the hips to open without pain. My suggestion then would be to try working on strength and conditioning moves that focus on holding a neutral pelvis and see if that eliminates your hip issues.
If you have the lessons here some good ones to work on are the

Yeah, practice, and just being aware of your lines while you practice will help. If you have the lessons and are looking for combos to work on that have flowing movement without inverts and advanced work take a look at the combos in the routines section. I think there’s about 30 combos.

I agree more and more is coming out that cross fit is just not that great for you.
Cross training however can be great, and everyone has great suggestions. Just remember you’ll see better results and reduce your chance of overuse injury by not working the same muscle groups two days in a row. Rest is just as important as training!
I personally like to cross train with yoga or hula hooping!

I’ve used it on mine often, I think the main reason for suggesting something other then windex is possible allergic reactions and the fact the xpole has their own pole cleaner too. They use to suggest windex back in the day!
Have you guys tried Foxy Kleen?! She use to be an active member here and was kind enough to send some samples my way, I have the lavender and cupcake, both leave a great sent AND they do work really well. You can also use it on yoga mats, gym gloves, equipment and such. http://foxykleen.com/shop/foxy-kleen-lavender-scented-fitness-equipment-cleaner/

Well hey, sleep is super important! These are all questions for webmaster, and while it seems like an easy thing to add a button or function here and there it’s not. Suggestions are always welcome though! 🙂

Hi, it was nice meeting you in chat 🙂 If you liked gymnastics I bet you’ll love pole!

I’m guessing it’s simply a matter of needed to train the legs how to fully extend, this can take a lot of time. Also not everyones leg line will look totally flat, some will always have a bit of bend at the knee. Do you have a video?

LOL yep, he’s my husband! I agree with telling the child (if it’s not yours that they should ask their parents. 🙂

AdministratorMarch 27, 2014 at 2:03 pm in reply to: hey guys am i doing these half cartwheels rightHey there, my first suggestion would be to not use the twisted grip, the lessons here are based on using a split grip. When using a twisted grip (if you must) there should be know kicking of the legs to get into the position. I know using a Twisted grip make the move “feel” easier or more stable, however it can over time cause injury.

Wonderful!! I love my sv pole too 💜

I would love to and could, but it’s just not economical, international orders would be looking at hundreds in shipping cost. 🙁

AdministratorMarch 23, 2014 at 10:26 am in reply to: shoulder and UPPER back,,, please stretch,,,,,,,,,,ahhhhh!!Bexboo do you have the lessons? There are stretches for the shoulders and back in the stretching section. If you want a stretch as in away to get between the shoulder bladed then doing the Reverse Bridge would feel nice. If you’re looking to improve back mobility (for ARCHING the back) then look at then begin by looking at the Cobra stretch lesson and go from there https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4de794f2-2bc4-4e78-938c-53a40ac37250 all lessons are in order so starting with that one will lead you into many more mobility lessons for the upper and lower back and shoulder! One of my favorite shoulder stretches is the up and over!

Please don’t feel pressured to be inverting as quick as possible. Depending on a persons physical background some can invert day one, others may takes months, years or inverting may not even be for them.
As mentioned by others there are still many things you can do that do not require an invert, working on them too soon can cause injury if positioning is incorrect and then you’ll be off the pole! That’s not what you want! We all have our strengths and it’s a good idea to find them so we can focus on our strengths during the times we feel frustrated with our progress.

I teach is with a SLIGHT curve. I’ve seen others teach to arch the back, I personally feel that’s not the best option because it makes engaging the abs difficult therefore, it could place unnecessary stress on the low back. If you take a look at the still shot of the lesson video I shared you’ll see my back isn’t arched or rounded. The movement for the legs comes from the hips not the waist, however, I do have you holding a SLIGHT C shape with the low back, it should not be over exaggerated or round the whole spine pulling the shoulders forward, but just enough to help tuck the bum and engage the abdominals. It’s addressed in the lesson if you have them. 🙂
