I think you’ll like the lil mynx, and honestly any finish can be worked with and the more advanced you are the better your ability to work with any finish, so you don’t need to necessarily upgrade! You may want a difference size/diameter pole just because it can be nice to try smaller sizes. Since you’ll have warm humid weather stainless should work well for you! When purchasing grip aids to reduce sweat avoid things like itac and . The are great grip aids but not meant for sweat! 🙂 Have fun with your new pole and take a photo with it for us!

Hooked, just make sure you have your periscope set to receive notifications when I broadcast. That way anytime I pop on you’ll know. Like last week I was at the beach and turned it on…it was fun!

Do you have a video of yourself trying? This can make it easer for us to see whats going wrong. Also are you making sure to come up and in towards the shoulder of the bend arm? Before you push up do you feel level and centered with the shoulders, are you coming into it from an inverted crucifix and does your grip between the knees feel super solid?

If you’re interested check out my lesson here, you’ll find a list of moves and strength work to focus on helping you accomplish this. They are always posted below the main player and labeled as “related” lessons! https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4cc97c20-7e0c-47ee-8303-49360ac37250

Welcome! Yoga and pole are such a great mix! I always suggest learning new moves without heels and then using the heels once you’ve become more comfortable with that move, but I think floor work always feels better with heels! lol When I go out I almost always wear flats, I save the heels for workouts, haha.

There are a few lessons here for strengthening the feet that would help with wearing heels. You can get 3 days of access to check them out using this code. GET3FREE!!

I agree that it’s not bad to end in a crucifix in fact I consider that the first step, once you can do that you move on to the shoulder mount V. As far as handstands do you do them often or are you new to them?

For all of these things control as Lola said is the key. Keep in mind that controlled momentum is fine but it has to be controlled, otherwise you risk injury. Have you gone through the lessons here in order to see if you’re ready to work on shoulder mounts and single arm handstands? I’m not sure how long you’ve had them but if you didn’t know, lessons are placed in a progressive way to help you build up to each move.

If you haven’t been working on elbow stands try those first before forearm or handstands. 🙂 Body awareness improves as you work on these things in small steps. 🙂

I should add that even the tuck invert when done with hips in front and no push from any foot is also a deadlift.
