Bummer! Well it’s not nearly as good as the lessons here, but I do have a section of Tutorials, tips and Demos on my YT account…most of them are on my SV profile too if you’d rather watch them on the site. 🙂

It sounds like you just need some structure to follow. Maybe look for local studios who teach pole work in a progressive way, building up your strength. I also have the 30 day take off program that will do the same. Most things worth while are never super easy. 🙂

You can use a spinning pole at any level 🙂 I do usually suggest learning new moves on a static pole. I like to teach static spins first as well, not because they are better, or easier, just because the mechanics of static spins are a bit more challenging to learn if you have only used a spinning pole.
Lucca is right using a very skinny pole for spinny is helpful giving a more secure hand grip for most people. Here’s a video with tips for using spinny poles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtinAzp17s0

Why would you say you suck? Fear is something that will hold anyone back from learning anything and it’s not uncommon at all! Instead of saying to yourself I hope I don’t fall or I can never get this, this is hard, change your perception to….I can learn this I will do this. Write it down and read it out loud before pole practice. Do you have the lessons? If so you can pole climb once then repeat like I demonstrate, this will allow you to continuously climb without going higher. 💜

It is not surprising that you find walking into spins gives you an easier time. A walk creates more momentum, so you can often just muscle through a spin, however it can increase your risk of injury! The concern with doing spins from a walk first would be if you don’t have the strength to hold your body weight. You should be able to do a pole hold and climb before you do walking static spins that are considered Intermediate. I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal until you find yourself with a wrist, elbow or shoulder injury.

Living in an RV means my stage pole is below the RV, in a storage space, and all the rest are in a storage unit waiting for me!! Sometimes I can find space for my stage pole outside when we are staying at a campground. I REALLY miss dancing on a floor!!!

Hmmm Shoogstandley, the camel is for the most part a mobility for the back/spine ‘stretch’, the reverse trunk twist is a strengthening exercise. You will have to ask for a stretch that he feels you can perform safely with your tendency to be hyper mobile. If you naturally overextend your back, then skip that part all together.
Have you looked in to working on the posture portion of this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ3V_2DsxgE

You could try recording yourself to see of you are doing it correctly as well.

It should not be back strength. You must REALLY curl before lifting, if you are trying to pull up with legs straight and arching the back at all you’ll feel strain

If you’re working with a PT ask what they suggest as a replacement they see fit. 😉

Oh yes the pain of dancing on carpet! I use footundeez but they only help a bit, my toes still get stuck. Lol 😜

I hope you find a place to pole or have the funds to buy a pole soon!! Nice to see you back 😊

Sending healing vibes their way.

Hi 🙂
Yep check out the gallery here, the first have is dedicated to grips and common leg positions. You’ll also learn the terminology in the lessons here. Here’s the link, it can also be found at the top of the site and viewed mobily! https://www.studioveena.com/galleries/view/0a310416-85e2-11e1-adf5-12313d086a56
Here’s a snap shot of the grips

Pwullschleger, Stargazermomma is correct, everyone will progress differently.
Pwullschleger, I think you may have misunderstood the progression of the lessons. You don’t have to only work on the warm up for 3 weeks. 🙂 You have two options for using the lessons. 1) Watch all of the Getting Started Lessons placed at the beginning of each section. Then follow the lessons in the order they’re listed. The Getting Started lessons will explain each section and give you tips regarding how often to practice. 2) Try using the 30 Day Take Off Program, This will tell you exactly what to work on for 30 days, it ever tells you when to rest. If you want more of a workout after completing a day feel free to add on to it.
Let me know if you have questions 🙂

Yes, sounds like a tear, rest and try massage or foam roller for it. When getting back into working on things that require hamstrings, be sure to fully warm up first so you do not re-injure it. Some don’t respond well to ice after an injury like this, so you could also try heat, then massage. As long as you don’t have swelling, heat can be very helpful, it will increase blood flow and can speed up healing.

Ferrous, I missed your post.
1. This challenge is meant to build strength. You wouldn’t be doing the exercises long enough to burn fat, it only takes a few minutes to complete the challenge everyday. You can start the challenge anytime you like.
2. Rest day are just as important as working out, if you don’t rest you’re muscles will not recover well and you will hinder your results.
I suggest pairing this challenge with a cardio based workout if you’re looking for weight loss.

Lol that’s a lot of counting by day 30!!

It can and will come back! I remember feeling the same way my first time back after baby. Make sure you’re drinking enough water and eating enough (especially if you’re breastfeeding). Start from the beginning and work back up into everything. If you have the lessons here, there’s a section called the 30 day take off program that would work well for you. Give it time! 🙂
