The studio that I go to allowed me to move up without being able to do the inverted v. There was no point un repeating the level over and over when I bad nailed every other trick. Maybe you can ask at your studio. Just a thought..

  • I just bought a powder coated from ebay for 120 including shipping. Can’t wait for it to arrive! Yay I’m so excited :). The price made up my mind for me since I am a little scared of the exrra grip. I will be using it only for inversion and holds so it might not me a problem.

I’ve been sliding down out of everything or going into crucifix first and then sliding down. I still can’t get up there to the inverted v after the last time I hurt my back. Instead I go into basic invert and then get my legs in the v position. But ss u mentioned, the aerial inverts should help with the needed strength yay !

I make sure that my lights are very dim when I video myself dancing. My legs are flabby but look fabulous when I dim the lights. I guess that’s my way of cheating a little bit lol.

  • Thanks for ur replies ladies! If I end up getting a lil mynx I’m inclined to get the powder coated. Still considering an x-pole sport so we’ll see..

  • I have an x-pert but can’t spend that kind of money for a second pole. The reason for wanting another one is that I want a 50mm. Ugh I can’t make up my mind…

I used to slide down easily when I first started inverting, but now I can hold the grip for a very long time as long ad my pole is not cold. It definitely improved with practice.

I do not post pics or videos because I am a very private person plus my husband would hate it. I do however enjoy watching other members videos here for ideas. Its easier than searching youtube since I don’t have a lot

Ha! I got a little confused. Brass is what I’ve used before and hate the smell. Oopsie.

I’ve never tried brass so I can’t compare. I do hate the smell that TG leaves on my hands.

I would just ignore it. Normally people just get used to it after a while. The studio that I attend got a lot of attention when it first opened and now its just another business in the area.

I’ve been reading some ads in craiglist and it looks like the lil mynx comes with a standard base suitable for carpet. Does this mean that iy needs a different base to use on tile.

I’m going to look up those two brands. Great to see that there are so many options!

Lol I guess keeping my feet nicely done at all times would make it more bearable.

unfortunately I don't feel too secure with leg warmers on either unless I'm just dancing around without doing inverts : (.  I will try the foot pads though, no harm in trying that.

I've worn my new shoes a few times and I must say that at least they feel better in the smaller size.   I'm happy with any improvement over the old ones : )

Thanks ladies. I tried to do it close to a wall this morning and I definitely can’t get up without kicking yet so I will be working on the negatives only for now. Thanks for the video savy! I can’t wait to get stronger so I can try lifting with legs bent.

thanks!!  I already do the negatives and they are more controlled than before.  I guess I will keep doing that and eventually work on the next step that you mentioned.

Ugh I don’t understand why they can’t make them with a smaller opening. It looks hideous.. I thought that going down a size would work but no luck. Maybe I will try ellies next time. I had a pair that were too big so I will get a 6 and see will see. Thanks for the comments, glad I’m not alone. I was starting to think I had freakishly long toes lol

    Pole dancing, not old dancing…lol

I thought that their routine on the pole was great. They didn’t do anything super advanced but they weren’t beginner moves either. I did not care for their dancing off the pole, it could have been better. Their pole work was fine and I loved that it gave old dancing some exposure.

If u have the time u can probably do it. It was impossible foe me to do both due to lack of free time. You need about an hour and 15 mins for p90x alone and then more time to pole. The soreness gets better after the first 2 or three weeks. Good luck! P90x is a great workout program.
