Inbox just exploded with notifications 🙂 thanks for fixing!
-
Sorry should say; am not getting notifications of threads, vids etc I subscribe too if someone comments….

Ps: I wore them when I was UK size 16 and I still wear them now; they are like a second skin. But not see through! Yay! 🙂
-
I am pretty sure UnderArmour compression shorts can be found in UK, they are pretty good – comfy and sporty, supportive, flattering, lots if sizes, make your shape sleek and no flashing crotch worries – if anything they can be bit too much coverage but can be moved up and down if you need more skin.

Prancing face saving variation here
https://www.studioveena.com/videos/edit/53fe79a4-14cc-4fce-89bf-4dd70a9aa0eb
Meanwhile will practice proper air walk without tree frog splay toes and get back to you… -
Thanks – love the FB clip.
Learned a prancing variation today which looks better than my early efforts but still having issues getting feet to look like they’re stepping along flat surface; the tip about trying just off ground is genius 🙂 -
That’s true: I stopped pointing and tried again but ended up doing tippy toe balls of feet which looked equally daft!
When I do heels down flexed feet it’s hard not to splay toes like a tree frog. Maybe I should try in shoes.

Thank you so much, that’s really helpful 🙂

I touch pointy toes to ground with knee tucks, if feeling bad ass do straight legs or V for first 6. Today I switched over after 12. Then went back for last set. They’re hard but not terrible. But the leg raises slay me; 25 each leg with straight leg is nonstop limit, can do 35 -40 with attitude leg. Switching feels cheaty but I just get to fatigue and cannot.go.on.
The last week is scary :-0
-
Are any of you lot actually doing 55 leg raises each side without stopping [cries]?
Holy Moly.
It’s working though: got hands free Cupid today and I swear it’s an ab strength thing. (And a butt n’ thigh clench thing)
So yay thanks Veena. 🙂 -
Oh I love the shorts with upside down writing.
They are labelled as underwear; what’s the crotch coverage like as dance shorts? Has anyone worn them to pole jam in? -
Video interview with her: she does train a bit in shorts and crop top in it. She also says she doesn’t like the ‘stripping’ links and prefers to go with ‘ballet-gymnastics on a pole’
-
Blimey, glad tomorrow is a rest day
:-0
Those leg raises! -
Still going here. Abs definitely stronger but carbs have crept up as husband been off work for a fortnight so might have to get hardcore for the last week!
-
What sort of pole is it? What’s it made of? Maybe you could post a photo?
Different pole materials require different cleaning techniques when they are new and you are getting the factory finish off – also something to bear in mind is that cheap fun poles such as are often sold in adult stores are often not safe AT ALL for climbing, inverting and using with your body weight, they are just adult toys for posing and playing with rather than proper dance poles like x-pole, Lil Mynx, Platinum Stages etc. -

Gosh it’s getting hardcore.
The leg lifts are killer, couldn’t manage 35 without stopping today. -
Ps: check the Veena lap and floor lessons and transitions 🙂

Have you had a look at the many excellent videos people here posted for the UPA a Bringing Sexy Back challenge in July?
There were threads on it too: other than that what do you find sexy about other dancers and about yourself?
I found it hard to do – so hard – so I researched and watched loads of vids and read threads and here are my notes:
Go where your instincts take you – if you have a glorious roundness in the ass think about showing it off with slow circles, lying on your tummy and letting your butt rise and fall then pull you up, as you push back and up and toss your hair. Then kneel., knees apart and clench each butt cheek one at a time…
Or if your hips and belly are all woman, stand, stroke the pole while you draw figure 8s and bend your knees and roll your hips…
Or lie down on your back, propped on your elbows and raise your legs pointing your toes, knees together like you have a coin clamped between them, and draw slow circles with your feet – teasing – then open into V.
Do it all slowly with conviction and eye contact.
Do it for pleasure and fun just because it pleases you!

There are LOADS of intermediate advanced combos and ideas hiding in the ‘routines and combos’ section – I only found them yesterday because I thought that was a section just for work outs! If you keep scrolling there’s all sorts of stuff (thanks Veena for telling me about it when I was moaning that I always end up free styling the same stuff)

Lucca speaks truth and that talk is awesome.
I am only just starting to learn to let go but my top tips are:
Slow. If on spin hold each shape for 2x round the pole full revolution. If on static try to float up and down out of the spin in slow motion.Extend: Point toes and fully extend as if you are drawing lines with finger tips and toes and sprinkling glitter trails or smoke vapour from your fingers and toes and the ends of your hair.
Close your eyes, dim the lights, exhale and smile, move through the whole of the movement as if a photographer is taking a fast-shutter series of photos and wants to catch your glorious shape in each still frame.
Turn the music up and forget the tricks for the song before you focus: roll on the floor, shake your hair, draw line shapes with your legs and circles with your hips, keep it simple and tap into the real emotions you feel rather than playing at classic ‘sexy’.
Slow controlled frustration is sexy.
Angry, strong is sexy.
Tired, loose, careless is sexy.
Experimental playful is sexy.Just be how you are.
And if you feel foolish, adopt a persona. You are a runaway heiress secretly auditioning for a burlesque troupe, or an undercover FBI agent trying to seduce a mob boss, or whatever you like. Nobody is scoring you. Just entertain yourself 😉
