Try it, but stay low, I guess is the quick version. Low flow is all super trendy now anyway; the floor is the new ceiling in pole trick land.

KNZS, can you do 5-10 of these crunch- ups?
https://instagram.com/p/1a4LtmJASL/If not PLEASE do not try CAR on spin, especially not aerial!

Day 21: https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/5536be41-a6f8-49e9-b5cf-485b0a9aa0eb shouldermount. Wasn’t going to pole today as have horrible cough thing but did 10 mins as didn’t want to miss challenge.

Thank you so much Allyson. I will stick with Eva Cassidy!

Be aware that on spin mode you have to have a rock solid exit strategy for CAR: train yourself to crunch back up using abs, which is harder with the momentum of the pole or learn how to flag grip cartwheel off. It’s definitely not a beginner move on spin mode.

Veena I did tuck spin on spin, I can redo on static if it’s not right? I just prefer spin pole for everything.

I recommended Tara Lee Elements of Yoga DVDs when we chatted but just popped in to say my friend who is a fantastic yoga teacher recommended YogaGlo as a great home resource, for a monthly sub you can access quick or long flows for all different levels and all different types of yoga.

Thanks so much again Saeth and Lucca! Really great suggestions and ideas. I never shoulder dismount off, I will try to work on it. It’s funny because I have masses and masses of content to play with once mounted on pole. I’m happy to spin without dismounting for 2 minutes which is half the track. But as I never drill dismounts and do minimal floorwork (my pole space is small and carpeted so I can’t really) I look dreadful in transitions. I wish I could just stay on the pole, spinning faster and faster and never touch the floor!
I am going to take advice of sticking with the familiar when it comes to dismounts and just drill thigh slides and mermaids over and over as that’s my preference. I just need to work out how to flip over and touch hands to floor from a flower spin or a fast, big, low Scorpio .

Thanks Saeth! Really nice ideas 🙂 I agree re the strength and control needed.
My go-to exits are tuck into a ball
And slide to floor (not v tidy), flip
Into
inverted thigh hold, then reach hands to floor and thigh slide down, or gemini handstand out, or drop to splits. A problem I have is the exit from fast-spinning inversions like flower spin or big open shapes like Scorpio, especially when my head is close to the ground. I guess watching lots of spin dances like Ava Madison’s vids would help with ideas, and just making sure I really focus on exits because I am doing a solo at a showcase in a few weeks on a stage pole and whilst I am totally comfortable spinning round upsidedown it’s the transitions in between that are worrying me, especially on a short stage pole which am not familiar with. -

Veena the side plank lesson isn’t coming up and I get no hits when I search the site?

I’m 44. Restarted pole aged 42. You might find this thread interesting https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/534f2546-1450-43f1-808f-22d60a9aa0eb

I’m pretty interested actually! I could wear socks under the boots lol! Are the boots grippy when you climb the pole though? I have a white knee length platform pair and they are some plastic material and slide right off so I can’t climb except scissor climb and can’t do Scorpio or any ankle/calf hold and it’s a massive pain. I have a US mailing address and a freight forwarder who would forward to me in the Caribbean…

If size 8 I’m interested!

Can you add in stuff to your stage show that’s less upper-body intensive? Leg hangs for example are dramatic but can be quite relaxing to just hang out in. Hip holds also give you a chance to be dramatic looking but take a breather while you do cool things with your arms and legs. Spin mode is your friend if your stage pole spins…

I did it…bit disappointed. Has the author any experience of pole? It reads like a parcel of prejudices, stereotypes and preconceptions wrapped up in an academic paper.
Most people as fat as I know are quite able to grasp that people can attend boxercise classes at the gym without it being synonymous with taking up cage fighting. Poling is now mainstream, taught in perfectly normal
gyms and dance studios alongside Zumba and TRX. And the survey also doesn’t even cover home polers who don’t attend classes.I dunno. What’s the survey trying to prove?
