I had the same problem when I just started poling. I could do an inverted split grip, but not a carousel spin in split grip. Even though I was trying to put most my weight on my top arm. It was just because my arm was not conditioned enough. Go into the conditioning section and start working on the exercises in there to strengthen your forearms.

a friend has one and we normally get together every so often with a bunch of pole girls and go to the beach or park and pole. We do get stared at, our pictures get taken, the police has seen us, but we never got in trouble. Don’t think you need a permit. I wonder why you would. You’re not making money its like playing volleyball 😉 ok not exactly like volleyball…..

It came in one piece. It took a week maybe a day shorter. It came faster then expected.
Yes I love fine print. We ship everywhere in the US besides Alaska and hawaii. 😉

I have the studio Veena pole and am in Hawaii. Shipping was $45. And normally I get charged an arm and a leg as well. And I rent as well. But its just one screw and can be easily patched up when you move out.

I was practicing my headstand while my boy was taking pictures. I had told him about this forum thread. And he started laughing while taking my picture. I ask what is so funny and he says: you have leprechaun legs. Now you have a picture to post as well.
Love my boy. Didn’t plan on having leprechaun legs…..

I never really found my sexy yet. In zumba or dance it out it comes natural. In pole it is no where to be found. But that might be because I am unsure when I video myself. In my dance classes I just close my eyes and pretend that no one can see me.

It is so sad to see how cruel people can be. Are we still in grade school or something? Why do people need to reflect there own insecurity on others by being so negative.

I can express myself in so many different ways. I love the feeling of getting stronger. I am in the best shape I have been since I stopped gymnastics a little over 20 years ago.
I am doing things I couldn’t imagine my body doing. My boys think I am a cool mom 😉
I am more flexible. I enjoy watching my pole friends conquer new tricks and learn from each other. The pole world here where I live is so much nicer then some of the other exercise formats.

Mine did that to find out that I didn’t push the button down far enough. It also might make a different when it’s on carpet.

oh girl yes. I recently did something I didn’t think I was strong enough for but was able to hold it. I surprise myself every time when I think something is going to be hard to learn, to find out I am stronger then I thought and it isnt as hard as I always thought.

I only use my wrap with certain moves like practicing my split grip handspring, but also in handstands. I have an old injury from years of gymnastics. And it does help doing those moves with only little pain. But i don’t use them when I don’t need them.

try the scissor climb. Basically your only using your arms to climb, but you do put your legs on the pole. ok does that make sense? https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/18f06262-b91f-11df-856f-001b214581be I use this for arm strength building.

Bonnie: when you side you hand down you still would have to switch the legs to the other side. because in plank your knees are facing up, in caterpillar and ayesha they would be facing down. That means when twisting into and ayesha you should get your legs of the pole before you can even twist. Just trying to imagine here how to do that without falling down. Do you have a video with that transition?

@Bonnie: How do you go into an ayesha from advanced plank. wouldn you have to turn your whole body to get it in the correct position?

For me my other exsercizes are my job. Next to our own business, I only teach and work during the day and only one evening. My pole time is in the evening after dinner. Even if I don’t have much time I try to do at least some strength exsercizes. Like crunches, scissor climb, Gemini climb, knee tucks etc.

February 9, 2014 at 11:33 am in reply to: Size does NOT matter in pole(video) 🙂

I agree that a lot has to do with diet. But that’s not the case for everyone. During my chemo I gained a lot of weight. After being declared healthy I started teaching cardio classes again. Between November 2010 and December 2012 I had lost about 15 lbs. I was teaching 12 classes a week some weeks, but didn’t do strength or resistance. That had to change. At the beginning if 2013 I started teaching resistance training 3 times a week and a little less cardio. Few months later I found pole. I lost 30 lbs in 6 months. With also changing my diet. So for me diet was important. On top of that I am in hormone treatment. Side effect weight gain. I have hypothyroidism. Makes it harder to loose weight, but not impossible. And I have kept it of. And being a healthy weight has stabilized my thyroid hormones.
