Nope. Nevermind. Now that I'm looking at it…I really don't know if it would hold.

I found this nifty contraption that may or may not work, but it's a thought. I really like the cement in a bucket idea but this could work…http://www.amazon.com/Umbrella-Flag-Pole-Stand-Green/dp/B000Y03KY4

I like Charley's idea! The platform would allow the best of both worlds. I'm stuck with an 8' space right now and I'm CRAVING at least 12'  poles. Don't limit yourself if you have the option! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

I agree with what these ladies said. Watch your salt/caffeine/processed foods intake and stay hydrated! I know you mentioned you tried massage- was it relaxation or local therapeutic? When people come to me with that same group of symptoms I try to stay in the problematic areas. Sinus cativities, the crown, scalenes and SCM (anterior/posterior neck) are usually the culprits. I would try to find an LMT that specializes in migraines. If not, just tell the therapist to work these areas to find some relief. I know it can be really hard to find a knowledgable LMT in some areas (I can't find anyone I like to work on me! 🙁 ) Also, I find that sitting (slumping) on my couch is a MAJOR issue for my neck/back. Sit on a folding chair or lay flat on the ground when watching t.v. Hope you find some relief lady!

Cherished- Chemgoddess posted a nice pic of the stance at the begining of the thread. You will see a fella in white doing the proper stance https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Eva- Yeah, it does take me awhile before I’m warm enough to do a full split. But I’m going to keep at these stretches in hopes it will take next to none effort.

Shellectra- I think the supine stretch is what does it for me. At first it’s really unpleasant but after a few consecutive days I started to crave that feeling of the stretch. What I do is focus on the hip and shoulder placement. Focusing on breathing and picturing what the muscles are trying to do helps take the focus off the pain. It’s definitely mind over matter. Keep at it lady!

I have been working on these stretches for almost 2 weeks and I got 'em! I stuck with them daily and boy did they work for me. I can finally do a pain-free split! It takes me about 20-25 minutes of cardio and this stretch regimen to do them fully.

Stick with it and you will see results. I have never done the splits before frankly never thought I could. I have been into yoga and stretching for awhile but I have never seen thismuch progress so fast! I was surprised that I did them well before the 6th week!

    Now- onto the oversplits!

Use Veena's tutorials as a reference. I refer to them all the time. If you haven't yet, buy them. You need to be sure you follow  the sequence in which her vids are in because you might find you may not be strong enough or are possibly using improper body mechanics which can result in injury. Do yourself the favor!

Hey now! We don’t talk like that here!! I am 5’6 and 130-140 lbs and it took me at least 3 weeks to see real improvements on my spins. It doesn’t matter what size you are- it takes time. I’ve never had a problem with upper body strength (super swimmer arms..:/) but I did struggle with gracefulness and basic spins (I ran into the pole several times..) but I bought Veenas 2 month package and her lessons just made perfect sense to me. You know how things just click? Well that’s how it
happened for me. Don’t get down on yourself. We all have to start somewhere!! Keep at it!

Very cool! Last week I was watching Colbert Report (online) and one of the ads was a male gymnast who was on a pole and it was crazy awesome. I don’t even remember but the ad was for because I was definitely not paying attention to that aspect! 🙂 My boyfriend and I were staring in amazement. I hope that helps people understand the strength and dedication to this fine art!

Yes! Her lessons are unique and very easy to follow. I bought the two month package and I couldn’t be happier. I don’t think I would’ve progressed as fast without them!!

Hey Polergirl! Thanks for the greeting! Hope to me all you C-bus girls in the near future!

@catie- I grew up in Toledo! Willys Pkwy! Whereabouts are you? Maybe we can get together sometime. I could really use some motivation to learn new moves. I saw how you much you've progressed in only a few months! You're a natural! I'm still a little nervous about inverts but I have all my spins and sits down pat. Let me know what's up!

Chemgoddess: I am from Bowling Green which is about 30 minutes south of Toledo. Let me know when and where! I would love to meet you! Cleveland is just  hop, skip, and a jump from me! Private lessons?!

Momma: Veena's lessons are simply wonderful. It feels like she is right there with me. I love that she has them in a particular sequence because I don't feel like I am being pushed. It's such a great investment. Between yoga and her lessons I have never felt better!

I hope to meet up with you talented ladies soon!

I will never shave her again. Full Brazilian is the way to go. I’ve been getting them for about a year and now it hardly grows back! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Plus she stays sooo smooth for about 2 weeks and when hair comes back it’s not coarse. If you can get past the first 3 you’re golden! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

    Good luck!

    Mora,

I’m not sure if anyone has brought this up yet, but diet can sometimes be the culprit to excessive sweating. I have the same problem but I found that when I cut back on sodium intake (salt and cheese to name a few) it actually helped quite a bit. Also, when you shower don’t use really hot water. Your body overhears and sweating is the body’s way of cooling you down. Hopefully it will work for you, too!

    Good luck, Hun!

    Sasha
