Chem is right. Just let go and mooove. And to get inspired to do floorwork- watch some vids of Alethea or anyone who will get your flow-juices…flowing. Ha! It’s really important to finish even the simplest moves. When I first started working on freestyles I preferred slow music to be sure that I slow down and to move with intention. Focus on everything from breathing to head rolls, and foot placement to fingertips. And point those toes!!!! 😉

I drink muscle milk- not the p90x recovery drink although I really want to try it…I bulk fast too so I’ll be doing the lean workout this second time around. I have man-ish muscles already but I do need definition (especially in my legs!) I have shingles, too. They f’in suck!! 🙁 lucky I haven’t had an outbreak in years.

Story- aren't those corn cob pull-ups a bitch?? lol I'm getting ready to start round 2 of p90x. It's such an aweosme program- execpt fo rthe fact that their cool-downs are waay too short. i learned that the hard way. My first week I was so sore from not cooling down properly. Can't wait to start again!! You do 70-100 pull-ups?!?!?!?

I LOVE pull-ups. A year ago, when my boyfriend bought the pull-up bar, I couldn’t do a single one! Since then, I’ve upped it to 14 (on a good day) and if I take a 2 minute break I can do another set of at least 10. It feels SO good. I think it’s a great conditioning excersize for pole. I’ve also started to do v- ups on the bar. It’s awesome. My back is huge! I’m starting to bust out of bras though :/

Unfortunately, Girl Next Door just ended its' season. But I would contact Kelly Yvonne and definitely go the The Choreography House. Also- if you need a place to crash in the midwest just let me know! I'm in northern Ohio- so you probably won't be coming through here, but just throwing that out there!! I wish I could afford to go on a pole pilgramage. I guess it's time to start saving up!!! 😉

Good luck and make sure to document this awesome experience!!

Okay- I've always kind of been a fighter (only when neccessary- but i've never been afraid of stepping up for me or friends) My dad wanted me to channel it and get me into mma or kickboxing but he decided to make me the 3rd shift bouncer for his diner. I would man-handle full sized men, football players, crazy drunk chicks (2 or 3 at a time- they travel in gaggles lol), you name it. But I feel that if I were still bouncing- it would be a HELL of a lot easier.

Pole is a full body workout. I have gained a substanial amount of muscle in my arms, legs, back and abs.

So yeah, I think I could kick ass in a fight (*still* 😉

I have an xstage and while I don’t mind the play- for some moves that require a lot of momentum and height, it can be a wee bit unnerving. I’m used to it now but I wouldn’t want to be high up and away from the pole on silks with that sway. No way, not never. Lol

Yeah. There is a lot of give there- looks a little scary. I have a terrible mental picture of that standalone snapping. I wouldn’t be comfortable unless it was a perm pole.

Nope. It’s a device that uses a ceramic heating element to produce vapor rather than smoke.

I should mention that occassionaly is a bit of a stretch as most nights I do vaporize to relax and enjoy my evening. Kind of like a glass of wine! Just thought I’d be honest ( with myself and with you all!)

Katana- as Amy stated- you can eat it 😉

I started smoking pot when I was 14. And trust me when I say, pot was the least of my problems when I was a teen. I was never physically addicted to it…I was a troubled girl who lost a lot of family members in only 4 months and never had the help I needed to cope. So I turned to the one thing that made me giggle, eat, and feel connected to the earth (don’t laugh…that mentality really helped me put things into perspective) I was arrested when i was about 16 for posession and had to attend court ordered NA meetings regularly. Here I saw what a real addiction consisted of and this is when I knew I was NOT addicted to pot. I was on probation so I turned to drugs that would leave my system quicker than weed.. It wasn’t until I was a sophomore in HS that I started running with the wrong crowd (not my pot friends) and got heavy into crap like coke and pills. That continued until a year after graduation. Then I turned to LSD. I would drop everyday- it got to the point where i could go to work high on 2 or 3 (or 4 or 5) hits and noone would be the wiser. It was an addiction because it consumed my life. I couldn’t stand being sober. It was terrible. I have battled addiction with a few substances, weed not being even close to one of them. I’m 4 1/2 years sober (not including marijuana because I never considered that a threat to my health) and I feel great. I do occassionally partake in vaporizing marijuana (not a drinker-alcoholism is “in my blood”) as an anxiety reducer. Plus, vaporizing doesn’t make me lazy-it often has the opposite effect on me.

I’m sorry but when I look at my family’s/others’ problems/addictions, pot is menial. My mother always tells me she would rather me smoke pot than smoke cigarettes, drink or anything else. I agree with Chem, I know MANY super successful lawyers, docs, and business owners that are regular pot smokers.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to go to lunch 🙁 I may have to hurry home depending on what time we get out of there. I have a Jim Gaffigan show to get to by 6!
