I can't wait until I get some more money saved up to get a 45 for my stage. I am wondering how that will affect the flex tho.

I'm not for pole in the Olympics any more either. If it does get into the Olympics, then obviously they are going to strip it as much as possible of it's sensuality which will only fuel the fire between sporty pole dancers and sexy pole dancers. We have to defend it now that it's not slutty. If the sporty version becomes what's poplular and excepted, then any kind of sensual movement will be looked down on and considered "slutty". I'm afraid it's going to destroy the art and move pride in sensual movements and sexuality backwards.

It's so sad and disheartening that people bash sexy pole dancers. One of the main things I love about pole dancing is that it empowers us and our sensuality. We learn to honor and respect it, to welcome it, not to be afraid of it. Women are discovering that being sexy isn't dirty. People who come along and make the comments are really just perves because they have a perverted opion of the human form and sensual being.

I’m very excited about the lite version! I’m sure this one will be easier to get in and out of the truck of my car, plus I like that it’s only 4 inches high.

Aren’t they wonderful and exciting! Take it easy and listen to your body, don’t rush the physical stuff. I think you are doing a good thing by posting about your experience. I’m sure others will find it helpful.

Use Aloe Vera for moisturizer if you are going to pole that day or even while you are poling if you are so dry you are slippery. It can add a little bit of moisture tact that will help you to stick a little better. Then after you pole, try putting on lotion to help alleviate the dryness.

I have found their customer service to be excellent. Kimara has been great with any issues I have had.

The large arrow etched on the 180mm X-Joint, do you have that pointing up towards the ceiling?

I’m glad you found the video helpful. When I read the instructions, I was confused, but after I saw my husband put it together, I realized how simple it was. I thought others might appreciate a visual also.

Yeah, it’s like that vase is vacuum sealed. Hubby has to knock it with his shoe.

You may have overtightened it, especially if it is bowed.
About the spin, it should spin smoothly. Does the rotation constantly feel tight (this would be too tight) or does it spin slightly and then kind of hit a spot where it comes to resistance and then spin and then resistance? How else could I word this? Like speed bumps you have to push through. If this is the case, it’s the ball bearings.
I’ll try making a vid to show you what I mean if I can get it to show up in a video.

Skittles, what exactly is intimidating you? I’ll try to break it down for you if you want. I know reading the instructions can be a bit intimidating, but once everything is clarified, it’s easy to put together or take apart.

I have complete under salines. My ps told me to stay off the pole for one month post-op. At the time I was just doing it for fun at home and wasn’t instructing. He also told me to stop poling for a few weeks before the surgery so my muscles wouldn’t be as tight. I tried getting back on the pole after one month, but it just felt too odd. It didn’t hurt, just felt odd. To work back up, I did an exercise routine that worked my arms by just moving them around, not using weights or resistance. I was able to get back to poling after 3 to 4 months from my surgery date. I got them done 3 years ago. I don’t have any problems with them and poling except they do distort some when I flex my pecs. I knew this was likely before the surgery though.

If you would still like to stay with an X, but are concerned about the stage pole height, you can easily cut down the pole tube with a hacksaw.

I’ve posted a video of how this pole is installed. Thought some might find it helpful.

I’m sure you will want to spin at some point (it adds a lot to the static holds), so why have to buy another pole again later?

If only these were a size 8!

I’m seriously wondering if this studio thinks this move is unsafe because perhaps they do not know how to teach it correctly or maybe they have misjudged when to introduce this move and got themselves into trouble with a student who was not prepared for it. Have you tried asking the studio for a more detailed explanation as to why some moves have been banned? If the studio believes it is unsafe, they should be able to break down their explanation as well and as detailed as Veena broke down her response. The reason of "being unsafe" is very broad. Plus, a lot of the safety issues lie in proper technique and being at an appropriate skill level.
