Oh I love the ideas!!! I too have no idea how to post videos and don’t have a web cam I did buy a vid camera mainly for taping and posting videos have been so busy have’nt had time to sit down with cam manual and see how to work it also would like to buy editing software ( I’m really bad with computors ect. so for now might just have to be whatever I can manage til get better at this)

i think it’s going to be alot of fun doing these challenges will keep an eye out for anything I think we could use for challenges Great ideas!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I agree about the for dummies books they’re easy to follow and very informative The biggest motivation for me to stretch everyday (even 5 mins is better than nothing at all ) will be how bad I want to be able to fully get into the split I have pretty strong legs as have always been either into running, basketball, horseback riding, ect dont really have the time for much of that anymore but still do alot of walking strong is good but my hamstrings are really tight I can touch my palms to the floor flat from a standing position without bending my knees, but i can feel a pull, not painful, but uncomfortable well i guess we have each other to motivate and support so hopefully we’lll all reach our goals in the coming year https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Really anything that gets your blood circulating and your heart rate up a little followed by stretching strectching
Never strectch cold muscles as they warm they become more pliable ( like most things ) so your less likely to pull or tear something i find doing a basic yoga tape (about 10 or 15 mins they have basic yoga dvds that come in 3 10-min. sessions think its called "10 minute solution they also have many other activites) after a quick warm up has helped alot with my range of motion ( when i actually bother to do it) i think jumping jacks (assuming you don’t have bad knees ect ) is one of the fastest ways to warm up and use arms/legs

I think having some great music to warm up/stretch to will def. motivate me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

I usually don’t warm up or stretch ( i know i know.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_neutral.gif ) but when I do I noticed a big diffrence One of my (many I like to make lists and I like challenges what can i say https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheese.gif ) New Years Resolutions is to be able to doa full split so looks like will have to start taking my own advice and stretching everyday i have bought a couple of yoga dvds so won’t get bored I can get pretty low into a split with left leg in front not very far with right leg leading ultimatly would like to ba able to do it all splits with either leg leading and straddle I know it’s going to take dedication on my part, but I really want it so I think I’ll make it happen https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I don’t think I would have to fake a thing when i dance it’s like i’m in my own world anyone who has gone out dancing with me knows things that are happening right in front of me are totally lost on me especially if it’s a song I love I’ll be out on the dance floor with my eyes closed totally immersed in the music and movement https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_shaking2.gif

Would love to have the chance just once to be on stage with an audience had the chance 10years ago ( i had just turned 19 i just turned 29 ) but had never touched a pole and was way too shy now I’m older, feel confident on the pole and in general https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I thought it would be so easy to find and sign up for an amateur night but can’t find anything even sort of in my area ( dont mind traveling a little, but not to say Boston which is an hours drive) have tried web sites, citysearch ect if anyone has any ideas how to locate and get info on amateur nights (dates/times/rules) it would be a great help thanks! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I think we all (or mostly all ) agree a weekly "challenge" would be a fun thing to do as well as provide a little extra motivation while keeping things fresh i personally like "exotic" dancing in general (belly dancing, chair dancing, burlesque, using props, ect but as am already a little concerned about what moves/outfits I would feel comfortable having on the web ( i have completely refused to have even head shots on my friends myspaces pages and always said i would never post a video as obviously ANYONE can see it including your boss/co-workers, family ect. this has made me a little hesitant to post so far as don’t do "routines" i just do what I feel at that second and sometimes some moves/poses/floorwork can look sexually suggestive if there was a way to ensure only certain people could see the video i would love to really let loose and whip out the chairs/props ect but for now will prob just edit out anything that is "racy" from my vids ) and think mixing it up with diffrent music, styles, props ect keeps it exciting and fun
i think since it’s just for fun and nobody has to do anything they don’t want to we should start posting challenge ideas/guidelines asap the chair/gloves ect can be an option people would obviously have the choice to not participate in any challenge they aren’t comfortable with and it’s up to you how far to take it (say chair dancing is part of the challenge no one’s saying you have to straddle and hump the chair you can be as "tasteful" or "naughty as you choose

I also love that this is becoming a community I come out here everyday to check for new posts and often pop in the chat room but am the only one there will try to catch some talk time in chat this fri. that would be great

as far as challenges I’m going to throw some ideas out (some I have seen done on you tube, some just made up)

    Studio V Challenge Ideas:
Do a routine to 70’s music
Do a routine to a slow sensual song
Do a routine with no spins
Do a routine with only spins (no inverts)
Do a routine with a prop (hat, cane, scarf ect)
Dance to a remix of a song
Touch the floor as little as possible
Dance in heels (this will sure be a challenge for me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif )
    Routine to reggae or techno
    Routine to a Madoona song
    Routine on spinny pole

Hopefully this catches on with the pole junkies challenge it’s a once a week thing I think once a week is a good option of cousre your always free to do more or less but think it would be fun to shoot for either weekly challenges or bi-monthly

so what do we think? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_king.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_queen.gif

the thing is most girls I know either have no intrest whatsoever, or get frustrated easily and act in a jealous way towards me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif I am very patient and encouraging and I know first hand how it feels to watch somebody breeze through a move you have been trying for months, so understand the looks or attitude I get sometimes
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif but as try to explain I have pole books, videos, on-line lessons, and a pole in my house of course I’m going to learn a little faster than someone without those resources

but just cant seem to find anyone who gets into it
I really thought when got the pole girls I know would be dying to try it but… could be fear? feeling intimidated? misconceptions about pole dancing? I love poling no matter what, but having people to do it with, like most activites, makes it more intresting and fun am planning on making and posting first pole video the first weekend of the new year (finally) so maybe having a video posted will give me a little encoragment and motivation

did learn 2 new moves on Christmas https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Bow n Arrow and sitting on pole upside down
(pic sitting on floor with legs out in front crossed at ankles, but upside down with no hands
anyone know if there’s a way to get into Jade Split this way?
sorry to be so all over the place with this post
will have to try to catch some time in fri chat! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

i think the challenges are a great idea i know they have something called "pole junkies weekend challenge" on you tube it’s exactly like you said where 1 week the challenge is to do a routine with no spins or a routine to 80’s music or a routine where you have to spin then invert throughout it would def. be something i would do
    great idea!
