I’m with you there I bought a camera months ago just so I could record pole sessions and still have no idea how it works, or how to post am going to try it tonight after my boyfriend goes to work I really don’t do routines either I just kind of do tricks with some filler moves and a little floorwork am actually trying to find or design routines as think would be fun to teach friends ( might get them into it a little more )
haven’t decided on prop for first challenge will have to look around for ideas am really looking foward to seeing what everyone comes up with will try to be in chat fri https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif hope to see you there!

that book/dvd is what got me on pole dancing! thats so funny https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif It was purely accidental just stumbled on it and that’s how I found out about X-Pole I remember the guy a little creepy, but kinda funny too well it’s a good book for beginners I remember when I didn’t have a pole yet and I would be looking everywhere I went to see if there was some sort of pole I could try a move on I am so grateful for my pole Actually had a really bad day and am going up soon to work off some of this and maybe get a new move am going to try Ashyas (is that how you spell it?) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

MemberJanuary 4, 2009 at 9:40 pm in reply to: How does everyone structure their pole practices?i’m really glad you asked as i would love to have some sort of routine i think it would help alot with getting on the pole enough to gain strength and flexibility as well as keep me motivated right now its whenever and whatever i feel like freestlye is def. important, but knowing i’m doing certain things on set days to get closer to my goals would be great I don’t usually even warm up I just put on music and start doing spins/inverts
I have read some good ideas in the forums about just doing easy dancing to warm up and putting on relaxing music til your ready to really start moving i am going to try some new moves tonight so will be warming up/stretching part of what i miss about class is knowing we had warm-up cool-down routine well i look foward to reading everyone elses ideas on this https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -
I ended up ordering the x-pole 50mm chrome I have gold right now chrome is better for spins as it is a little more slippery allowing you to glide around easily, but gold is better for climbing, inverted poses, ect I may put chrome upstairs where gold is now since have no height up there and would be better used for spins and move gold downstairs as have height, but no room to spin I bought secong one for purpouse of using for climbing exersise, inverted combos, climbing upside down, ect
Also just in case actually come across someone who might be willing to try this will have 1 can take down, and take with Can’t wait til it comes in The only time I get to use a tall pole is at friends, but she only goes on occasionally, where I am always up for dicussing/watching/doing pole stuff
I also ordered Leigh Anns Advanced dvd was going to order whole set but she never got back to me about the content on beg/int. will let you know what i think when i watch it hope everyone’s enjoying the weekend!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif -
i’m up for almost anything charged camera tonight so can do prop challenge tommrow hope to have it posted by next weekend if not sooner keep the ideas coming as some people will be unable to participate in certain ones (say if yopu can’t invert yet and challenge is based on inverts) so will be nice to have some to choose from GREAT IDEAS!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

thanks so much for the advice!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif it was very helpful as ssaid have done it a few times and was really able to just hang in the chopper position comfortably, but other times i go up and right back down
am wandering if strong hand was on bottom b/c tried both ways, but don’t remember which used when was able to do it it’s after midnight now and just getting in so will have to wait for tommorow, but am going to try your tips
can also do regular invert and then let legs fall into chopper position, but since one of my big goals is to get the spinning chopper must be able to master from standing position thanks again!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -
I think will give this a go tommorow as have part y to go to later and am not feeling well at the moment will video it and TRY to post (still unable to figure out how to get video on you tube) am develpoing some pics today so atleast should be able to get some pics up this weekend or next week https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif
can’t wait to do the challenge and see/hear how everyone else did GOOD LUCK!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

i totally hear you ion this one I can do inverted moves that are more advanced than this no problem but this one i cant seem to master i have got it a few times and was able to just hang there like that and than get into gemini or whatever https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif but than will try on another day and just can’t do it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
would like to be able to do when i want and not just rely on luck besides making sure to get your hips up any pointers? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif -

I have the Art of Pole series and it is amazing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif yes i agree even if your a more advanced pole dancer you could possibly benefit from a begginer dvd but in this case i learned NOTHING https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
not transitions, not floorwork moves, not a mini routine, not anything I was so disappointed I really look foward to getting new dvds soon though and am still thinking of getting leigh anns beginner as i think she will have alot of twirls, floorwork, filler moves ect to be learned also want to get a chair dancing dvd if anyone knows of any good ones https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif thanks -
Ya it’s really too bad because it can be so much fun to get together with your friends and learn routines and such but I do get tired of feeling like I can’t be proud of myself or make a big deal when I learn a new move if there are certain people around or that I just have to act like it was just luck that i can do a move
i love learning and I love teaching so am disappointed that I really can’t seem to share this with anyone in my own area or there were atleast classes so could do this with a group… Well it’s a New Year so time for some changes I just decided I am going to be proud of what I have learned, am going to accept compliments (even the not so sincere ones), and celebrate any way I feel when get a new move regardless of company
I love poling so it doesnt seem like work, but have put in amazing amount of time, energy, and recourses into studying moves on you tube, watching video lessons, reading books and forums,sweating/bruising ect to have come to this point and it’s just going to keep getting better so people can just get used to it and maybe learn to have some fun with it or they can go find a corner to sulk in https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I had to get that off my chest vent time ya know? well thanks for reading and thanks for your earler reply was nice to see I’m not imagining this https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
so how was everyones New Years? I had wanted to post resolutions and read others, but havent found a post site for it yet has anyone else? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Oh she’s am amazing pole dancer I love her style I get the impression she’s not as "down with the people" as Veena is have wrote to her several times to tell her I admire her work and to ask about her dvd set but she has not responded .. She owns a pole studio in Cali called Be Spun Its a 3 dvd box set but may only want the advanced dvd as have been very disappointed by getting Beginner/Inter. dvds before only to find I already know all the moves (good and bad thing I guess) Well thanks anyway https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
-
I can only use my right leg in that position as well i kick my outer leg up wether it is L or R even when doing chopper I have seen vids with girls doing it the other way but haven’t felt comfortable and as long as can do the moves i want the way have been doing them will prob just keep doing it that way although it is good to have a variety of ways of doing something

thanks! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif yes i just had a party here last night and some of the girls wanted to try the pole, but it’s like they expect to be doing the kinds of things i do within minutes of being on the pole i try to explain how when i first started i could barely hold myself up it took months, lots of bruises, and lots of patience to get where i’m at now https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif i get dirty looks and get called a "lucky b**ch" in HALF joking way https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_silent.gif
it’s really not cool cause these are friends and yuo would think they would be proud of what I have learned but they get frustrated and I actually feel like i either have to feel bad about being able to do more advanced things, or acting like things are really difficult for me to do even if they’re not so I don’t have anyone upset I just wish the girls would consistently practice (as have told everyone am almost always up for jumping on the pole and am more than willing to break moves down, spot, ect) so they can build the strength to advanceI really am so grateful for this studio it’s so great to know my accomplishments will be encouraged and celebrated, and that other peoples accomplishments out here inspire me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif
Well hope you all had a great new years eve and here’s to a new year of poling and all the new moves we’re going to learn!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

ya i just did it to make sure am not bending kness it’s not painful but def uncomfortable i heard thats how you should stretch to the point of being SLIGHTY uncomfortable (never should be painful and as said never should do any serious stretching without warming up correct muscles first) I have been trying to work on splits everyday maybe now that holidays are over will have more time to dedicate to this
well HAPPY NEW YEARS AND BE SAFE!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_jokercolor.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_farao.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_dwarf.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_nemo.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_ugeek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/alien.gif

I learned the basic invert from a squatting position everything the same except standing near the pole you squat next to My friend also has been learning this way it’s easier as your not pulling yourself nearly as high this took about a month of doing before i was able to do it standing hope this helps
-
Wow sounds like everybodys doing great! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif The knee hold is something I haven’t tried to hard to get so far as find very painful to attempt, https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif but hope to start on that once have got some other things down Great job on the Jade split https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif that is one of the moves I really want to get I can "sit" on the pole upside down (picture sitting on floor w/legs straight in front crossed at ankles but upside down on the pole ) dont know if can get into Jade that way…
Will def have to work on flexibility as would like to get legs straight as possible https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gifI just got the star recently things i can think of that might help is to remember to really grip hard with your leg like trying to to touch your foot to your butt to get a really strong grip, of course be sure you or your pole are not slippery (lotion/oil/sweat) and bracing your other foot against the pole really helps have you tried in boots? sometimes I use boots when trying something that requires a hold like that (vinyl material really has a great grip on the pole) until I build the strength to do it without (like when first started on spinny mode could only do moves with boots on but now don’t need them) hope this helped somewhat.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif
great job everyone!!!
